Most games I see have an icon, that is not the GM gear thing, but I can't find a way to add an icon to my game... Can somebody please explain?
Also... can somebody please make the icon? It's part of this request.

Go to Global Game Settings, select the Loading tab. You can change the icon with a button near the bottom. Wasn't that easy?

If you need a simple 32x32 icon, you can make it yourself with this. If you have Game Maker 8.0 or later and need something more fancy, you might try IcoFX.

I tried using your 'game' to make an icon, before forgetting... I suck at drawing... My icon didn't quite look good enough (or at all) so I have decided to let somebody else try!

I thought the issue was in not having capable software. Well, I am decent at drawing I think, just not on a computer. I need to get myself a scanner.

Hey dude, I used @icon sushi. It can any picture into a .ico file (you do have to re-size the picture however).

The link is here.

@dienes - Thanks for the link! I found a decent icon, but still would prefer an original, unused, unseen one ;P

@bowser - I see... but I don't have any picture to change to a .ico either

Well, that's the beauty, you get to make any image you want. Maybe take one off of google images and screw around with it in photoshop or paint until you have something you like. When done resize the image so it fits and change it to .ico.

Photoshop and I think Paint.NET (if not it's a plugin) can export directly to *.ico if wanted. You can even create multi-size icons, and they work properly with Game Maker now that they've updated the game icon function.

It costs $30 after the trial. No thanks. Creating an icon is not worth $30 when you can do it for free.
