This very easy. Download a free program called Audacity, load your .wav file onto it, then "export" to .mp3.

EDIT: Of course, I envisage a few people would say this isn't the fastest or even best method, but for a free program, Audacity is very useful, so you might as well get it.

Hmm, do you think there are any other programs that do this? The word "audacity" means arrogance, and I'm not a very arrogant person.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I think you're mistaken. Audacity is a computer software for editing sound. And the definition of the word is "boldness": to my understanding, that's a compliment.

But I'm not bold

I have no idea why that matters. It's just a name after all.

Is audacity the only program for this kind of stuff?

No, but it is one of the best you can get for free.

No, audacity is not the only program. I use itunes. Go onto your settings/preferences and change the encoder from m4a (or acc) to mp3. Then just play your wav file, right click on it, and select "convert to mp3". Hey presto, an mp3 copy of your wav file. No special programs. No fuss. And no loss of quality.

Hope that helps man :)

Thanks! I don't have iTunes though, since Steve jobs wants to take over America. I highly recommend you uninstall all apple software!

You are very strange :P.

iTunes will work, but it is a slow and large program. I don't think there's much point using it for anything else other than making mp3s (since Winamp is a far superior audio player) which is why I think Audacity is a better choice. Also, as far as I know, iTunes compresses all mp3s to 128kbps, meaning there is a possible loss of quality.

Okay, okay. There are some conversion services online if you Google them. Uploading a .wav file might take a long time, however, and I doubt you could batch process them that way.

Conversion service is, well, a service that converts files, in the context I used it above. In other words, it can convert files from .wav to .mp3.

Batch processing is where a lot of files get put through a program where it does the same thing to that many files, rather than manually doing them all yourself.

I have audacity but i also use wavepad, it's free, well it's still a trial but the only function that basically requires you to buy it is if you wanted to save it as a wavepad file i think.

just need to open the file up in wavepad sound editor and save it as an mp3- simple! ^^

not sure if i'm aloud to add external links..? but,

Oh.. my.. God.

Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
"The Free, Cross-Platform Sound Editor"

You can use Audacity to:
- Record live audio.
- Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs.
- Edit Ogg Vorbis, MP3, WAV or AIFF sound files.
- Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together.
- Change the speed or pitch of a recording.
- And more! See the complete list of features.

It is not equal to arrogance, boldness or what the hell you else think it is! The title of the program is merely a title, and the program does what you want the program to do! So get yourself together and accept the ****ing help instead of crying about what "the title of the program means" - boohoo.

Download it, convert your *.wav to *.mp3 and uninstall it. No more "arrogance/boldness" for you!

Jesus christ.

To re-phrase: If it does, I'll credit you in my game which I'll never complete because I'll realize that it's not as simple as I initially thought!

What? I don't think mmorpg's are that hard to make... and I already have all the zelda sprites.

Mhm.. For one; You're using illegal sprites. Using those sprites is a copyright infringement towards whoever developed the Zelda game your graphics are from.
Second; Do you even have any experience with 39dll?
And let me add; You did make the music that you are trying to convert, yourself, right? Or at have legal permissions from the actual owner? No? Well then that's a direct copyright infringement too, unless the music is royalty-free.

Anyhow, good luck. You'll have me by the balls if you ever release a stable version of this game. I strongly doubt it.

<_<

Okay let me explain. I got my sprites from google. If google has them, then they're free, therefore I can use them.

Also I don't know what you mean by "3dll" but my game isn't 3d, so no problems there.

And yes, I made my own music, its an acoustic guitar cover of the zelda theme. So don't talk smack if you dont know the facts.
