However, there's a bug when deleting status updates - I've tried to delete a status update from my profile for days, but it keeps popping back!
I don't know if this is related to the new skin, but I didn't experience it with the old one.
The status update in question is the "Uploaded a vid of what my..."

Anyway; on a rainy day (such as today), this new theme is quite delicious. Any light on the screen, though, ruins readability a bit.

I understand your desire to match this site up with the massive overhaul done to the YYG site, but the dark look was uninviting, and the Paytone One font was very much a poor choice for small text such as user names. I don't agree with the redesign of your main site (I feel that you've dashed away the game-sharing community you spent several years building in favour of a corporate-feeling, *very* content-lite, unfriendly theme), but I understand that you may be looking to take your company in a new direction.
The GMC has always been separate from the YYG site (and most GMC members deliberately chose to remain here rather than migrate to the YYG forums) as a community for the users and the makers, not for towing the company line. That split is, I feel, what makes it entirely OK for YYG to move to a corporate, non-community-driven main site. We still have this forum to turn to. So, you can imagine my concern when I see this site being overhauled to the current stylistic trends of the main site.
I do wish that the YYG Theme was still the primary one--it's easier to read. But thanks for giving us the choice, at least. I hope that it will help in keeping the rather incredible community of developers coming back here.

Corporate look? If anything the old theme had a more corporate look, but in a good, "professional" way.Thank you, YYG, for allowing us to switch to the YYG theme, instead of the YYG Dark theme.

Besides the new look, the new site doesn't really have much of interest when compared to the sandbox, which contains a huge selection of interesting games. I think the sandbox should be incorporated into the main website in a more noticeable way.
Other suggestions that others have reiterated:
- change the font
- revamp the program logos
- redesign the site (no cheesy rotating logos please)
- put more interesting content on the site
- incorporate the sandbox into the main site to a higher degree
- add additional promotional tools for sandbox users - I thought this was going to happen
- rename and rebrand "Game Maker"
Remember that the site rankings for YoYoGames.com are dropping fast. Do something about it!

So you're saying..."start from scratch"?Other suggestions that others have reiterated:
- change the font

An why in the multiverse would anyone suggest Game Maker be renamed? There's already word-of-mouth spread around the world about Game Maker. Imagine how hard it would be to find Game Maker if it was suddenly renamed to, i.e., GameDev.

EDIT: (And that abbreviation is not meant as an insult, more like a tribute, since I figure it would be pretty fun to have the same abbreviation as the forums since you would feel like you're in charge of it all. Just wanted to clarify that)

I liked it almost instantly.
I think the "Light on Dark" studies referred to is really a question of getting used to, and since a lot is too used to "dark on light", the experience problems with "Dark on Light".
However.
There is one exception to that, i think it was NPT (Paul Toast) that mentioned colour blindness, that in his case makes red and blue invisible on the grey background.
This is not to be taken ... lightly ... (any pun is NOT intended).
As for the "not professional" talk:
I've seen "professional".
Everyone wants to be "professional".
To me, seeing site after site trying to be "professional", even sites that frankly doesn't have to .... is just boring.
It is even so boring, that it sometimes feels like a horde of corporate hogs is running through the net.
I congratulate GMC for thinking outside of the corporate (boar) box, and try something else.
...... But then, i'm no "high-brainer" so ... well at least, this is my opinion.

Nah, that wouldn't be good. Then people would be complaining that "IMP's skin is terrible, all black and green", and I'd feel like some sort of charbroiled Invader ZimWhy no call it "the Immature Maker Place", or IMP for short?

Back on topic, though, I've been sticking with the old skin just out of preference. At the same time, if/when we lose that option, I don't think I'd mind using the new skin. It's very different, yes, but it's not terrible at all.

When mouse-overing your member name in the upper right, the "My settings / My Content / Messenger / etc" menu appears under the Search input field. Now when you move the mouse to any of the menu items, the menu disappears as soon as it is above the Search input field, making it impossible to use any of the menu items.
Problem exists in IE9, but not FireFox 6.
