I actually like dark colors, it's easier on the eyes than bright, eye-gouging forums. Most of the forums I go to use rather bright colors; I'm liking this theme over the previous one.

The font looks somewhat childish, but the darkness more than makes up for it. :thumbsup:

That seems like quite a fundamental aspect of a forum - the ability to log in and out.

C'mon, you act like they "forgot" to add a login button. lol...

Before the top menu bar stopped working, there was a login button under the GMC tab. I think there was another login button over on the right, too. I don't remember. It only worked for about a half-hour before it broke.

I prefer the old theme, as well I want the "My Content" back, since I can't find it. As well its now harder to log in. The buttons on top don't work for me. Font style is I guess too thick. As well I can't find the button to change themes. I have to now change my avatar to blend in with the new background color... I can get used to this, but there should be some minor changes....

The buttons at the top did work for about 5 minutes after the theme change and thus at one point we had our log in/out and my content buttons we are all so fond of. It is after office hours here in Scotland so unless someone has casually decided to check out bug-reports and whatnot after work we will have to deal with this for a few hours. At least until whom ever is incharge of the bug reports takes a look at them, most likely some time tomorrow. I personally don't understand why the buttons were working and now aren't, they were all working then I moved pages and suddenly the weren't.

I'm not sure why they didn't have somebody pull a night-shift to deal with these issues. It's been my experience that when a company releases something like this, they always have a few employees stick around to see if any problems come up...

Some-one sticking around for an extra hour or so would have been nice, or you know implementing the change earlier in the day. It seems to be the shoot first ask questions later sort of approach for the moment, hopefully tomorrow will bring some fixes to these problems. It's a shame that the new theme has had so many bugs, the log in/out , the buttons, some of the emoticons , latex etc . I've read that there was a Test theme that these issues weren't present so that may be the reason for the fire and forget approach on this aspect.

In Firefox, select View, then "page style", and then select "no style". You'll see the links under each menu item. And they should work:

TO FIX THE MENU DROPDOWNS

Get an add-on that lets you modify the CSS of the page.

Find the style: .yyg-header ul#menu li

Get rid of the "overflow: hidden" style. It shouldn't be there. Your dropdown menus will now work.

So we went from white to black. Awesome. To be honest, as long as I can still do normal mundane tasks like post, PM, start new topics, and stuff like that, I don't care what skin we have.


...Actually, I take that back. If the skin turns pink with rainbows, unicorns, magical ponies, and flowers, then I'm out of here.

For people who are clearing cache and still not seeing the new skin, go to the bottom of the page and there is a drop down box on the left.

Some say that they see only "YoYoGames" and "IP Board Mobile." I see an additional "YoYoGame New (Import)" choice which is what brought me to the new skin. Although, as a staff member, I am uncertain if this is only available to me/us.

Some people weren't even able to log in. There's no need for them to shut of the forum completely, they just need a single employee pulling a night-shift to deal with these types of problems. It's a common practice.

But most members can figure out how to log in. I'm not very web savvy and I figured it out. There are at least two obvious ways to get to the login screen.

Besides, this isn't a commerce and/or banking site. Or a site that provides critical services/info. It's just the GMC. So I still say it's not worth YYG pulling a night-shift over.

In my opinion, if you're going to take the time to release something, you should at least support it when it immediately has issues. Just because they don't provide some critical service doesn't give them an excuse to slack off on their products and customer service.

Maybe not a night-shift, but it's still certainly odd that they unleash the new theme then head off home to bed! A few extra hours to peruse the feedback and fix some of the more major bugs would have been (I feel) more of the normal thing to do. I think it's a bit odd that they change the theme and then we hear no more from any of the Yoyo representatives...

The theme switcher at the bottom of the page provides options of “YoYoGames” and “IP.Board Mobile”. Switching to mobile and then back to “YoYoGames” brings back the green theme which was in-use until earlier today.
