Presidents and Paupers

Howdy folks, the Real Desert Dog here. :D

I've recently worked in collaboration with Dangerous_Dave, to bring my latest creation to the Mac!

It's Presidents&Paupers, the popular party/family card game, known by an assortment of other names, like Scum, Bum, and some that aren't so family-friendly.

The game is commercial, so it costs money. It's available on the mac app store for $3. Alternatively, you can buy it from the Taihoa Publishing Web page for whatever price you think it's worth (minimum of $1 to cover costs, otherwise they'll charge us!!)

Here's a screenshot, to get your fingers itchy to play some cards!:

Download Site

You can find more screenshots, and a download for a Demo on the webpage here:

Mac app store link

Also, for you mac app store users, you can find it here, if you don't like our website, for whatever reason
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/presidents-and-paupers/id452570151?mt=12

All ratings&comments appreciated! :D

Please note that if you purchase from the Mac app store, that mac app store takes 30% of the sales price, leaving us with less money, than if you purchase from our(well D_Dave's) site.

Scratch my back, I'll scratch yours...

I've got 2 1 mac store Promo codes here, so if anyone here runs a blog, or website where they review games,(or maybe a youtube channel) just post(or PM) a link to your site/channel, and I'll PM you a promo code, so you can grab a copy for free.

Only 2 1 (for now!) so be in quick!

Cheers! Hope you enjoy the game!

I bought this app from the Mac app store.

Not because I was desperately interested in the game, nor because Presidents and Paupers is a card game that is of huge interest to me, but because spending 2.99 is not of consequence to me, and to support two GMC members who I like and admire.

Having said that, I do like this card game. When I played it in the past I knew it by a different name, starting with an "A" and ending with "hole", I seem to remember alcohol being involved as well. This is a nice implementation, and a nice change from all the solitaire games.

I'd like to see more options and configurability, ie number of players, number of card to pass, actual cards to pass.

Good luck

Thanks for the support NPT! ( For the record, I sent him a courtesy promo code, which he ignored..!)

And I think Apple let us keep only one of those 2 A* tags. :D

I think more players option I should look at, it was always planned, but during the 'visual' polishing (the game use to look like this: http://img69.imagesh...enshot100te.png ) somehow that idea got lost.

Other configuration, I actually wanted to steer clear of, keep the game as simply&straight forward as possible. I never played by any other rules, and when I googled up (and eventually found) a variant of the game, I didn't enjoy how they'd interpreted the rules, and none of their rather numerous 'options' made sense, and since I was already familiar with (my variation of) the game, and it confused even me, I figured it'd confuse too many of my players.

'course, those 2 choices I made left the game pretty bare-bones as far as options were concerned! I don't mind too much, sometimes simple is best, and since it provides an even more stark contrast to D_Dave's TimeRift. We've priced them the same, and we're 'sale racing' to see who does better, which should be interesting. :D

Thanks for the luck!

And if anyone's wondering, the demo show-cases pretty much the whole game, just with a few annoying pop-ups&game rounds restrictions.

1 mac app store promo code down, 1 left.
