MisuMen's 3D Extension Library 2 (FINAL)

MisuMen's 3D Extension Library 2 is the Ultimate advance library extension for Game Maker that allows you to create 3D games much simplier and quicker using drag and drop icons. In this new version, there are now more custom options for one to create excellent 3D games at many varieties. It contains the following:

-3D set up (1st person or 3rd person)
-3D movements
-3D Draw tools
-3D lighting and 3D shadow imitation
-3D model importer (new and improved)
-3D collision ( highly improved )
-3D Animation ( Fixed )
-3D Sound (Fixed)
-2D to 3D graphics converter (Beta)
- And more...
*****< NOTE: 2D to 3D graphics converter does not litteraly convert your game to 3D; it just simulates the graphics. This options is to keep you amused only; not for game creation. Plus the 2D to 3D actions are in Beta still so there could be any glitch or messed up problems in it. If you spot any problems with it, PM me here. >*****

**UPDATE**
The final version includes the following:
-Fixed jumping and gravity action
-Fixed the 3D Build actions. (Now fully works)
-Included id argument for transform rotation actions.
-Fixed the 3D animation. (Now it works fine, and I also included two new actions for it)
-3D collision more improved and fixed than the Beta version.
-Added two new action (3D depth and Display FPS)
-Improved collision event in 3rd person mode.
-Texture animation now works well (you must set an animated sprite for the object to work)
-Fixed object destroy(it now works for imported models too.)
-Added the "open model from file" action again.

This extension package also contains examples, one tutorial, and a help file. Please give feedback about this extension: Comments, reviews, or any suggestions for updates. Its free to use. Please read the "read me" file before you ever use this extension.

I've realized that the 3D sound action is not working. I'm not sure how to fix it but if I was able to fix it, I'll update it for the 2.0. I think you have to manually play the sound with a function. Anyway if there is anything wrong with the library or have any suggestions or recommendations. Please do post them here.

P.S: The 2.0 won't be ready until the end of the year probably. :)

Sorry if I sound rude, but I have to tell it the hard way.

So you've deployed an installer / uninstaller system for this extension. Great. Specially when the installer doesn't even install the files in it. Zip or rar file please. I rather deploy small systems such as extensions where I want them to be instead of trusting an installer to do the work for me, and fail in the process.

And what's up with them .exe files? No need to include programs when GM8 can open up most game maker files anyways.

As for the screenshot it looks pretty dark, but it looks nice!

Harsh! But its cool. I've only added a installer since I thought it will look more professional. But I guess its okay to make a zip file. However, thats have to wait since I'm already working on the 2.0. Maybe later.

Okay! New link to the zip file is on top of the this page. ^

There is no problem with adding an installer. All people who program their own software does that. Even I do when I release my VST plugins. :) So no hard feelings for that.

I was harsh, but it is time to give you some serious credit for your hard work as well. This library / extension is immense. And it is the only extension that has a really good collision system for 3D. Great work there! I'm totally looking forward to see your next version of this extension!

Thanks. However, I can't agree about my own collision event. It seems there are a couple of flaws with it:

First off, it doesn't work with imported models, which I'm trying to create one that works for imported models right now.
Second, there are still glitches with the collision of z position, since I've been testing my lib by creating advance/complicated 3D games.
Third, If the 3D object is more larger then 20(somewhere) by size, the collision doesn't respond by some sectors of the model.
Forth and last, there is no collision event for 3D models to Models(I've found a way but I can't place them in one D&D).

All this should be fixed for the new version, probably the end of the year since next week I start college. Oh and yeah, this extension is immense. I've decided to reduce it but keeping all the features and necessary options in the library. Plus with new features, it will be a success. But there is more to wait and work on to see. ^_^

Well I noticed a minor flaw in the collision system, and it is that the players tend to be stuck at corners. This isn't a bad thing since it really mimics the Wolfenstein 3d collision system where it happened all the time. :)

So far from its release date to now, my extension library has reached its 130 download which means the 2.0 will be released very soon (somewhere this month or next)
And I tried to fix the collision event but there is a minor glitch that affects the collision event terribly but I'll try my best to improve it. :medieval:

Well... its been months and I have finally finish making the 2 version of my extension(I think). I need now tutorials for the extension library and I'll be setting up the final touches and releasing it. First off, I'm gonna make sure everything that I promised is included.

SPOILER: I improved the collision action. It is now even better than the last (no flaws and smoother) :woot:

EDIT: I have not place the link yet to the 2 version; there is only the 1 version. I won't post it until I finish making the tutorials. You will know when it is updated by the title of the topic. I'm saying this just to make sure. And I eliminated some actions. (Another Spoiler)

Wow! I love this!

I really like the 2d to 3d converter!
Is there a d3d_start() that starts 3d without moving the origin to the bottom left?

How to use it? Can you make an example please public/style_emoticons/dark/smile.gif
I get this error when I use the mouse camera icon:

of Create Event
for object object1:

Error in code at line 13:

YIKES!!! I didn't know about that error! Unless you are fusing 3rd person actions with 1st person actions (which is not suppose to be like that). Of course, I have to make a tutorial for that but I have to do it when there is time because I am currently working on a project. I'll see what I can do about that. Thanks! :geek:

Okay, I think I see the problem. For my extension library, the actions are used for specific type of events only and order as well. First thing first, mouse camera does not go in create event. To use mouse camera, you must make sure the set cam object is set first in create event, then in step event you add the mouse camera (this action works only for step event). And last you add again the set cam action into end step event. Then everything should work well. That's why I'm going to make a tutorial for that.

And about the origin, I'm not understanding that. What origin?

Hm... This is a technical problem from your computer according to what I've searched in google. Try downloading the zip instead.

I'll get that in it too. But the update won't be displayed until May, unfortunately; I have to do my studies first. But I will have everything fixed and updated, plus I made the tutorials already but need a music for it (this will be release soon also). :medieval:
