This was great fun to test with you, will also play this one tomorrow and see what's new!

hmm may I ask you a question? How do you use country detect on serverlist?

I used MaxMind's GeoLite City Database, i take the server's ip and convert it to a country code by a few PHP's stored on my website. :)

IP's are handled by the game, so, no.. :(

There was no one to play with but I'd like to say that I like the way the plane is controlled and the graphical style.

This has come along beautifully! Gonna keep it on my desktop and login occasionally to hopefully catch a real game. Consider adding bots? ;)

Only complaint is that missiles are very laggy (looks like they wait for a server response).

Yes, the missilles are created after the server tells you to, so if the server lags the missilles do.. this is to avoid missplacement and to keep all palyer with the exact same info all the time.. If i make it the missilels info to be updated by the client who creates it, it will lag even worse :)

Ohp, and bots will be singleplayer only, sorry :(

Edit: My server is probably going to lag a lot because im hosting on my own pc!

Uploading a new version as i write; (actually is the same version, with many fixes and additions, to avoid confusions with the server compatibility, wich remains the same)

Fixes:
  • Timeout bug when there was only one player joined.
  • Particles effects slow down removed. (mostly)
  • Bug when rotating your airplane more than 360º quickly.
  • Fire rate was the same for all airplanes.
  • Flares where horribly slow due to blend modes.
  • [...]

Added:
  • Single Player mode with AI.
  • 14 Achievements to be completed (more to be added)
  • You cannot choose any airplane now, you need to level up to unlock them.
  • Single player mode gives experience, but not as much as online mode.
  • [...]

As ususal im pprobably forgetting about some things, but the most important changes are listed in there.. The old client is fully compatible with this version, atrough i recommend to re-download because of the speed improovements ;)

I think what you should do now is to focus on making your game more fun and addictive.
You should make more unlockable and unique weapons and planes which actually feel different (To do this you might have to expand on your physics engine). Also one idea is the use of killstreak rewards.
For weapons you could do:
  • cluster missiles
  • flack bullets
  • emp shots
  • shotgun type bullets
  • experimental Boeing type laser beam
  • missiles which act differently

for elements that make planes feel different you could consider (some u already have):
  • thrust power (planes can fly upward better then others without stalling)
  • drag
  • wing lift
  • turn rate
  • payload weight (how much plane can hold before having reduced performance)
  • ability to double tap for high speed sonic speed
  • steath capabilties

for killstreaks you could do:
  • call in surface to air missiles from carrier
  • call in flack shots from aircraft carrier
  • ability to land and restore payload
  • ai fighter plane assisstance
  • radar jamming
  • large emp storm
  • thats all i can think of....

Thats a great list of suggestions you got there! some of them are in the to-do list, like payload and AI assistance, and im really looking forward to add them! i was also thinking of adding more planes to the current list ;)

All of the suggestions above are possible to be added, but some will be restricted to single player mode (specially different weapons types), due to server restrictions.. i hope you guys can understand this... :(

Awesome game. I love the art style and its fun to just fly around and to acrobatic tricks. The AI was good, although i think they fly into the water too easily (wish you got points for that). Can't wait to see this project come along.
