Instead of doing Broadcast #19, we did a pre-season broadcast to warm-up for the season, and indie(Magazine); Issue #19 will be released after broadcast #19. The releases will happen January 21st-22nd.
Thank you, and hope to see you then,

And speaking of speech therapy (I'm looking at you, Bret), practice beforehand with words you can't pronounce -- such as Barcelona, Amsterdam, monetize, statistically... and a few others.
That was the problem with the entire news: Total lack of preparation. As you summarized blogs and online news, it seemed like you were reading them for the first time. This became painfully clear, when after discussing some "upcoming event", you suddenly realized the event was already over.
Look, when you do a news show, take a few minutes to read your material before the show. Take a few notes and decide what you're going to say. You guys should know this.
And btw, when you aren't speaking, move back from the microphone. The sound of breathing is really annoying. At times, it sounded like gale force winds.
Generally, my advice is to abandon these radio shows and stick with the magazine. The mags were getting pretty good actually, and I enjoyed them. You put some effort into them, and it showed.

Thanks Joe.Listening now.

I agree. Remembered we had a topic here last minute, thought a last minute update would be better than none. Why would anybody doing a live show, wait until 40 minutes before broadcasting to let anybody know about it?

I'll admit it, this show was a bit of a mess. We weren't very prepared, and I'm going to make sure that the future shows are. Also, I have no idea who was breathing on their microphone, but I was about to kick everyone from the call. That bothered me too, and I put a note in the chat and it stopped. No one claimed it, though.I just listened to the recorded version. But I had to skip through the interview (second half). It was just too painful. Not sure who it was, but every third word was "like"... filled in with "you know", and several "and stuff". If my kids spoke that way, we'd send them to speech therapy.

I'd love to get the magazine back on track, but we need a new designer. I refuse to use old designs, and I can't design, so we're pretty much screwed. Our old designers aren't with us, so we're at a bit of a dilemma.
Overall, indie(Function); is kind of falling apart right now, and I'm really trying to keep it together. However, our fan base is starting to grow and this was the most listened to broadcast yet, so I refuse to back down. indie(Function); will continue, and I know we'll get our act back together and start having some good radio shows, a solid magazine, and more things to look forward to.
Thank you again for the feedback, everyone, we'll note it and make sure to prepare for next time.
Until then,
-Bret Hudson

What's wrong with re-using designs? The magazine's value is informational content. So use an old design and nobody will notice -- or care -- as long you provide something interesting to read.I'd love to get the magazine back on track, but we need a new designer. I refuse to use old designs, and I can't design, so we're pretty much screwed.

Don't equate listeners with fans. However, our fan base is starting to grow and this was the most listened to broadcast yet...
Just teasing.. but seriously, even at their best, radio shows can't compete with good magazines. But good luck with the show anyway. Just don't give up on the magazine.

If you still don't know who he is, check out this link: http://www.wikipedia...Edmund_McMillen
We are allowing people to send us questions to ask him. However, we are interviewing him before the show, in about 15 hours after this post. So, if you want your question to be answered, send me (Bret) a message, tweet @indieFunction on Twitter, or leave it in the topic itself.
Hope to see some big numbers in listeners this weekend! Until then,

1. His last game (The Binding of Isaac) had some "interesting" Biblical themes. Could Edmund comment on how this came to be?we are interviewing him before the show, in about 15 hours after this post. So, if you want your question to be answered <...> leave it in the topic itself.
2. The Binding of Isaac had some disturbing Mother-Son relationships. Is this semi-autobiographical? (@Bret: If you'd rather not ask this personal question, that's understandable.)
3. In Braid, McMillen was the original artist. But the graphics were replaced by David Hellman's art before release. What's the story behind this?
