Dehinged Mind is a Horror Game I created a while ago that took about 8 months to complete. It was greatly inspired by the Silent Hill Series.

Good game, played through most of it (I'm pretty sure, I was at the part where you need to put in a code for the door, unfortunately I didn't read the note carefully so I didn't know what it was. And then you couldn't go back to your notes... so I gave up...)

I must say, this game is pretty effective. The tension was definitely there, and the sounds worked really well. The lighting was good throughout the game, except for a few moments where it was a little too dark - before you got your flashlight in the hospital, for example.

Another issue I must point out is with the mirror room. I don't want to ruin this puzzle for others, so...
Spoiler

Overall, great job. It was decently creepy and the Silent Hill influences are definintely there, though not in such a way as to make this unoriginal. This game deserves attention, and I hope it gets it.

Okay, so that's the issue. It's really too dark to see there. Regardless, I made it through. The game isn't too long and the tension is lost a little after you've played through it multiple times. The ending is a little more difficult to understand, but it's still effective.
Spoiler

I like the extras, especially the password needed to get to them. As I said before, excellent job.

[spoiler]I'm guessing the first note is in regard to Henry, who is insane and imagining all this while inside that room at the ending. It's probably supposed to be a padded cell. The second note is Henry's thoughts regarding the hospital staff's attempts to understand him.

Yes you understood the story exactly. =D
Ill work on a patch that fixes a few graphical problems the game has.
UPDATE!!
Version 1.1 is available which contains graphical fixes.
Now available at
YOYOGAMES
and
MEDIAFIRE

I have to say this game was a nice experience. Solid engine. Not much game-play, but I kept going wondering what would be next. =) But to be honest there really wasn't enough to it. =/ When I play games like that, I expect more in-depth storyline to make up for the lack of game-play. But, regardless, I enjoyed it.

A sequel is being worked on. The graphics and lighting will be greatly improved. The message boxes will be customized, the game will feature smooth wall collisions, and you will have to be looking at an object such as a key to be able to pick it up.No demos anytime soon I'm afraid. All you can play is the horror lighting test on my yoyogames page to get an idea of the updated graphics. That test is nowhere near as good as what i am working on now.

I just played the whole game^^ it was nice but I felt like it missed something, the only attempt at scaring were some noise in a hall or when it switched from the new to the old (hospital?) I was waiting for some actual gameplay at start until I noticed that there were none so I just walked freely until the credits came.

If you add something (enemies, visions, cutscenes) then it would get allot better

agreed with hardlylike. another aspect you could have incorporated is some sort of deep symbolism or better depth to the character of henry. we could have gotten to know him much better. not bad though. i did enjoy the play =] and i dont feel as though my time was wasted.
