The missing floor at the end of L3 is a known bug. I was wondering for the longest time why he kept falling off the level during the cutscene, and I somehow didn’t find out why till after I uploaded the game... It’s already fixed for the next update, so like it says in the first post, just hold down Right when you jump up there and you should be fine.
"P.S. I think the new level one is harder."
I take it that trying to make L1 easier kinda backfired on me, huh?
"I don't like that rolling boulder area... >:("
Aww, don’t give up! Here’s a tip: The debris on the first slope indicates the PERFECT moment to jump so you don’t undershoot the next platform. It also helps to jump again immediately after you land, so you can clear the second chasm without having to worry about getting knocked into it.
“Add more levels for the next update. Also a suggestion is to add unlockables, like maybe a new skins or characters to be, also the image that gets created would have special symbols in it, if you did something special in that level.”
Heh heh... I already have the system for other characters and different images and level graphics. You just can’t access it yet.
I actually never thought about having different symbols. I don’t know if they’d really fit on there without cluttering the picture up, but I’m definitely going to try it to see if it works. What kind of stuff do you think I should put?

That is, unless someone else beats it *cough*Melle1*cough*
As for inspiration... I dunno really. It's just something I made for the fun of it. I made a working platform engine, then I wanted to do something I've never even remotely done before (or even thought of doing up until that point), and this is the result. It's actually turning out better than I would have ever expected.
Oh, and that stupid midi problem's still not fixed. For those of you who don't know, I made (yes, made) an okay-ish track for the game, but unless it's converted to mp3, it won't play. It's bumping the filesize up by quite a bit for a bonus feature, and it's gonna get even bigger if I add more of them like I intend to. Any ideas?

'That part' on level 3 is responsible for taking about 50 lives away from me. And I'm still on it!
Going to keep trying though :S

(Sorry, there’s no new character either. I realized I still need all the sound effects, so that’ll be for next time)
So, bug fixes. Here's a list of 'em for v. 0.5.1:
=== I forgot to put floor objects in the end of level 3, which meant that you fell off the level if you weren't careful. It's been fixed, and the cutscene's been put in.
=== You won't be able to step out of the screen to avoid the coins in the “bonus” level anymore.
=== The coding for the options menu was kind of messed up, so that's fixed.
=== Hitting escape during the game no longer hard quits to the menu
Last but not least…
=== LEVEL 1 IS EASIER, and level 3 now has an extra checkpoint for that part!
There haven't been any additions to the core game, so it may or may not be worth redownloading, depending on how much of a WHAT THE @#&% ?! fan you are.

Currently, if you can beat the game in under ten minutes, that person will be you. So go ahead, try it!

By the way, what part of level 1 did you find the most difficult? Nearly everyone has been telling me it's the hardest level, and I'd kinda like to know which parts to change.

Level two was the easiest.
Level three was the trickiest.
Level four was the most guess-and-check.
Level one had the annoying first jump with the spikes, as well as the Coin Dimension (that I could still escape from the side btw), and the bit around the Don't Read This Sign that took up the most lives.
First jump: ~ 12 deaths
Collect the Coins: ~ 20 deaths
Don't Read This: ~ 8 deaths
Level two was the easiest, mainly because of it not being as skill based, but closer to guess and check (not counting the Reactor section.)
Level three had that dick move with the falling checkpoint and the (of course) rolling boulder section that I seemed to die to despite being several feet away from it.
The slope that went downward gave me a bit of grief because I had to slow down before hitting it, or else the game didn't seem to register that I was on a platform, and therefore able to jump.
Also, the Oh Fudge section was annoying to get right due to the timing required, as well as the one block.
Level four had the jump to the purple sign being complicated by those flying bee things and also a general "how do I do this" regarding the Companion Cube.
It wasn't too obvious that you'd clip right through it >_>
Game was fun, but I'd encourage not making Level 1 the hardest :]
Look at my times- they reflect it

I’m tryyyingg to make level 1 really easy, but apparently this attempt was an epic fail. It used to go 4 – 2 – 3 – 5, but I might end up combining levels 4 and 1 in that order and putting them after level 3, and make yet ANOTHER level 1. As you can see, I’m still not the best at telling what people will find the hardest.
Another thing I could possibly do is make this level 1 a secret bonus level, but I'm not sure if I should add too many features and bonus content so the game doesn't become overly elaborate. I dunno, what do you think?
But for level 1, is it maybe not self-explanatory enough that you can stand on the sides of spikes without dying? That’s seriously the easiest way to get past the first part: Jump on top and drop down. Or maybe I should just take the lowermost spikes out instead. That’d probably be fairer for the first thing you encounter, unless I decide to make another level, in which case it's staying as it is.
The rock… aughh, I’m an idiot. It used to be a lot bigger, and I forgot to resize the collision mask when I changed the sprite… I’ll go fix that.
FYI, it IS supposed to be slightly cheap at times, like with the checkpoint in level 3 and a bunch of other stuff. It's just part of the game, but I do try to put checkpoints or really easy stuff before those parts.
Sooo glad you find the game fun, though.
