hilariousFirst batch of quotes.
<chatlog>
I'm fine with the chat. I visited once myself, and I might again. But is there any reason to re-play it on the GMC?

P.S. the only time I've seen you "visit" you didn't say a single word. Not even a hello.

Well then. Yet another GMC chatroom. This will die out, all other ones have. It's just a matter of time.
Yes, it will die out... such negativity tends to kill things. Of course, if people actually supported the initiative shown by these members in their attempt to spread the community spirit, then it might actually grow and flourish.
Nah...
That's not the GMC way...

This is based on like 5 minutes of being in chat, so if that's completely inaccurate, I may come around.

I agree, I don't think the IRC should be advertised with "God" (religion?) or "Damn" (a curse word/damnation).When it's advertised with colored vocabulary that's censored on TV, I think there's where the problem lies.

First off, in a chat there is a lot more freedom to say what you wish. Its a chat, not a forum and so censorship is difficult... Personally I get annoyed with certain things that keep cropping up in the conversations and certain attitudes, but these things happened during the Jam too, and yet you (Theo) participated.
Second, the choice of words that Zeddy uses to announce the Chat topic is his problem and I fail to see what difference it makes to the actual chat itself... if it offends you, then Pm him and ask him nicely to change it! Iīm sure he will as he has proven time and again to be a reasonable guy.
Third, the idea of the chat is not to get help!!! Thats what the forum is for... its for chatting! No more, no less. You see, if we are all GMC members and GM users then we all have a common base to start talking from, and so a chat is a natural extension of the bonds that already form more slowly through the GMC when people ask a question and get an answer. Itīs a hang out for like-minded people to have a laugh, talk about things (in general) and if the need arrises get help or feedback (I have spoken with several people about my, and their, projects and problems with GM)...
Lighten up guys, and if you donīt like it, donīt participate...

Every day I learn new and interesting ways people can get offended; this one was new to me.I agree, I don't think the IRC should be advertised with "God" (religion?) or "Damn" (a curse word/damnation).
It's been changed.
<There was an IRC quote here but they are not welcome>

True. If crude language offends you, it's best to avoid chatrooms. By the same token, what's said in the chat, should stay in the chat. Not repeated on the GMC.First off, in a chat there is a lot more freedom to say what you wish. Its a chat, not a forum and so censorship is difficult...
...
...if you donīt like it, donīt participate...
That's a surefire way to get this topic closed.

So which do you want?
Do you want the support of the community, or do you want to tell people not to participate and them blame them for not spreading community spirit?
Darn right it is.That's a surefire way to get this topic closed.
People around here have a tendency to do stupid things. Then blame the consequences of the stupid things on the Mods.

Paul, I thought you were better at logic than this; both statements are true.So which do you want?
And could someone please explain the harm in the quotes? I am dead seriously not seeing it.
