Everyone heard paul23! Get out of the chat right now and stop having fun! One or two months of bonding and good times is completely worthless and we should just avoid the whole thing!
Because of that, this community chat topic is wasting valuable yoyogames server-space that's reserved for all those important topics in the community forum.
..Everyone did hear paul23.
He didn't say any such thing.
I know this is your brain child, and so your aggressiveness is perhaps expected, but that won't get us anywhere.
What value does this chat add?
And what makes this need a topic for itself here?
Don't ignore these questions, answer them. Whether the chat succeeds or last, depends on the goals that the chat sets for itself. Otherwise it WILL drift, and turn into a trolling mess. You know I've been a little unhappy with some of the behavior on there before, and it will easily descend into a far worse mess, very quickly.
For me, so far it's just been good to chat to gmc members I see about on this forum. I hope that we will see members help members with GM problems and that, but I'm dubious.. we saw an earlier topic in this very community with a very aggressive member towards a 'new' gm user.
As for point two..
One of my GMC friends ran a gm game dev competition not that long ago. He wasn't allowed any topic to start here, to generate any interest, etc, despite it being a 'community' style event. And I'm not complaining, that's fair enough.
So why a topic like this? Why should this have a topic here on this community, while other topics such as that with similar goals (community event, community participation, GM related, etc) aren't allowed?
Don't just laugh off any criticism. You aren't the first, explain why this chat deserves to be here on this community, talk about what it will offer. If it just offers a 'place to chat about things' then this really isn't a community thing, is it? It's just that.. a place to chat. Set it up in your sig's, and all 'chat members' can put it in their sig's, too. Members can answer questions in the novice Q&A, and point to their sigs as a way of getting members there.
