OK, so I'm making a game where a robot is the protagonist. The robot is 16x16. He inhabits a 16x16 world where he can slide around a world where everything aligns to the 16x16 grid. Therefore he will fit perfectly in holes in the wall, ground, ceiling, etc...

I've wanted to let the character be more than a 16x16 block lately though, I've been thinking he could be fully animated and changing into a 16x16 block could be done only when needed as a power he has.

I've created prototypes of the character below, and have shown him in his 16x16 block form as well.

I need some help seeing the character animated in some way. I am sort of a beginner at animation so I'm not sure where to begin. You can of course create your own prototype if you want to.

What I need is this: character running, character to block transformation

Thanks in advance. I hope this wasn't too confusing for you to understand. If you need further explanation just post or PM

Wow, your work is pretty neat looking.

Ok, lets get started. I think the best way to start would be to just jump straight into animating

I'd need :

--- this guy running Posted Image

--- this guy jumping Posted Image

--- a transformation between these two, i.e. one Posted Image --> Posted Image

I'm not really a good animator yet but I am working on it. You could add some touches of your own if you'd like. I'm not sure how easy all this would be to animate but if its too hard you can make some alterations that would make it easier for you.

Thanks in advance

This is a great reference for bi-pedal animations http://www.idleworm....02w/walk1.shtml .

I've tried animating it myself a lot of times with the help of tutorials but the characters never look good, I feel like I need a little help from the community

If you do 1 pixel width legs, you can try animating from there, just turn them into proper legs over time.

I see Elephant already did this, but here's mine anyway:

Didn't know how you wanted it done, but pick which one you like and I'll give you the individual sprites.

Wow, thanks for all the replies guys. I think I can use all of them in my game. I might have to make some enemies rather than the protagonist though

Just one last request though, Awesomeness can you please animate this one running.
