my problem is in this code <_<

draw_text(x,y,STRING)

Could the string value be in another language not only English ??? :blink:


any one HELP plz :wub:

note : i am using :GM8_new: .. thanks

Well, French accents haven't worked for me in the past. Either they show up as question marks or they don't show up at all. I think it's only basic letters, numbers, and punctuation, unless you make your own sprite font and assign stuff to it.

do you know why Game maker is only English or French ??

Is there any plug in to make it read Arabic for example :(

Um, no, I said that French doesn't work for me. I'm pretty sure there's an extension somewhere for other languages, but I haven't ever looked into that because I can't use extensions. One thing I can suggest that's worked to a certain extent is to look up how to make a sprite font (it's when you type text, in the game it substitutes a sprite for the letter you type from ASCII codes). I think there are a lot of different characters in Arabic, but you could probably get a lot of them in because the substitution codes treat capital letters separate from lower-case ones. :)

YYG intend to properly implement support for other character sets. In the meantime, you can use your own font as described in this old glog post. Accents do currently work in GM, but not all Unicode characters. I think that currently only Windows-1252 is supported.
