Ah! New HUD looks much better, good change. If I had to make only one more small change I would push the 'Potion' and 'Materials' HUD boxes as far to the right as they could go, just to balance the screen a little better. I'm impressed with how well you've taken peoples advice, good job mate.

EDIT: And for the sword:
I'm not sure how far the Sword MASK reaches, I assumed it was the same as the sword animation (which most people would). If your mask already reaches quite a bit in front of your character I would just change the animation itself to more accurately reflect its range.

What, so it /appears/ that the sword's reach is absolutely horrible? The sword's animation mirrored the size of its mask in the last beta, hurhur

Also, quests are the biggest pain in programming I've ever seen. That is all.

Great game but I haven't got time to play it much. I was stuck after I cut the tree. I couldn't build the bridge. I don't really like the controls. At first I was using the mouse and then realised I could use the keyboard. Games should use either one or the other and this way it would be much easier for everyone to understand.

The graphics were nice but kind of choppy. I don't see a story belonging to the game at this stage of the development. I don't see much a difference between having it or not. It does not add to the gameplay nor the replay value.

I would try to focus on the gameplay before the story. All in all, the feeling of the game was good but I couldn't go far through it.

This is exactly what I said, it is hard for us to understand that we got to click on it since the game is played with the keyboard.

The game instructs you to click on it.

It is very irritating to switch from the mouse to the keyboard all the time.

Suggest a better method of constructions? Standing on the square doesn't work, and using a hotkey wouldn't work because the player would not be able to select which box he or she would like to construct in.

Using arrows to switch through the blocks in the view. OR change the whole game's controls using the mouse only.

OR add secondary controls... I'm going with that.

I took a look at all my code, and realized how much it sucked because I didn't know a thing about arrays then. I'm going to rebuild this entire engine from the ground up- an update won't be coming around for a while because I plan on adding quests.
Edit: Might take even longer due to a second un-released project.

Skipping cutscenes will be added with the whole engine re-working, yes. And my signature is the muchiest of them all.

That is a good thing. It sucks to do, but sometimes it gets necessary as you learn. You get used to it eventually....

Sure does, but the next update I hope to make this engine open-source.

Wow, the next update won't be coming for a looooong while. Pft. You people playing this beta, keep making suggestions, I'll keep a list to work on. Sadly I am not able to get any work done currently/lately.

Allo, haven't revisited this thread in a while
The new engine finally began about a month ago, and here's an update as to what it looks like so far, but I can't release the beta yet
I've also changed the name from Sceron to Unearthed, and the plot is different. If Camstudio didn't suck and recording audio from the soundcard was easy, I'd show a video.
