I can see from the screenshots that the blue HUD covers the screen way too much.

I can see from the screenshots that the blue HUD covers the screen way too much.

...It does? I thought if anything it was too small, like the screen size itself.

Even so, it's translucent, so you can see stuff behind it.

Also, I updated it with a pause menu (Where you can obviously keep it paused, resume, turn the music on or off, or quit to the title screen), and fixed up a few things. You can use it by pressing Space.

Well, there have been quite a few updates since I last posted.

Added a pause menu (Press escape), made switching between weapons smoother, made nicer button sprites, added a retry button in the score menu (After you die), added bullet casings/shotgun shells that drop out when shooting certain guns, made the music option work for the whole game, so you don't need to set it off or on at certain room changes, polished weapon reloading up a little, fixed up a few things in the map editor, and a few other minor things like damage and weapons.

If anyone has any map editor maps saved (Doubt it), they will not work with the latest version. However, I've "thoroughly" tested the map editor, and I shouldn't need to fix anything else.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if people that played (If anyone from here played) could leave feedback. It's been hard developing this since I've had VERY little feedback, suggestions, etc...

Well, the game is now to the point where I don't need to update it anymore. I added a new zombie called the Sploder, and it explodes on contact with the player or weapon fire, 12 medals (Achievements basically), and basic stat tracking. :D

All the bugs I've found have been fixed, all the content I wanted has been added, and the game is in great shape.

Work has begun on a sequel that will use the same engine obviously, and it will have the campaign I had planned to put in this version, the 33 other weapons, new game modes, and more.

I will have more info on the sequel, which will be named A.R.I.D. 2: The Aftermath, most likely later this month, or in early April. ;)

Hey guys! I'm working on a BIG update for A.R.I.D.! I'm going to be adding 3 new levels, all of which have tons of improvements over the old ones, as well as new features, including traps, upgrades (Kind of like Perks in Zombies on CoD:WaW/BLOPS), and much more!

So far, I've added one of the new maps, which takes place inside a chemical plant, configurable controls, and much more. Stay tuned for future updates, I'd appreciate it!

EDIT: Here's two screenshots of the new map:

great game, but not very original.

Thanks. Not very original as in it was heavily inspired by CoD:WaW/BLOPS Zombies? Or something else?

Cause I did take a LOT of inspiration from it, but it's obviously not the same exact thing.

Pretty fun little game. Congratulations on starting an update Posted Image

The collisions could really use some polish though. It sucks getting stopped by walls.
