At the end of the day, our brain is just a massive neural network - just like a computer, and so does the same tasks. It does calculate, you just aren't consciously aware of your brain doing the number crunching.

Trust me, it doesn't use numbers... it's far more advanced than that.you just aren't consciously aware of your brain doing the number crunching.

Its a neural network. Of course it doesnt physically count, but it uses logic systems that pass data between neurons, so technically it does count electrical pulses in a way... But so does a computer. All it does is counts electronic pulses and swaps them around in different circuits in its CPU. Of course it's a lot more complex than that, but that's the general idea.
