About 3 years ago I created an RPG using some very basic scripting knowledge. The problem was that it was in RPG maker, which I feel is not a very legitimate game creation software. I'm looking to transition the full game to Game Maker, but with the greater game creation options come greater challenges. I'm looking for a dedicated scripter who is familiar with turn based combat engines as well as a spriter. We currently have a very good portrait and graphic artist that can handle some, but not all of the backdrops, monster designs, etc.

Because this game has already been made once, I can guarantee we will get it complete. The concept, storyboard and mechanics are already there, we just need to transition them to a better software. I am a novelist and have experience with writing fantasy books, so I can assure you the quality of the plot and direction of the game will be satisfactory. The game is a generational RPG, with the premise being a party of angels watching and protecting a civilization as it grows from the ground up over three separate eras. Obvious influences for the project are ActRaiser 1 and 2, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and other 16 bit style RPGs.

I'm looking to try a few innovative things with the battle system, nothing too outrageous. Looking mainly for turn based, Dragon Quest style combat with emphasis on ability cooldowns.

PM if interested. I have the completed RPG maker game for those interested in coming aboard the project. It is about 6-7 hours long. It has very basic scripting (I'm no programmer) and no original graphics or music, but it sets up the exact storyboard we're looking for in the full blown Game Maker project.

Original music for the game will be provided by one of the guitarists from Descendants of Erdrick, a classic 8 bit style video game band from Austin.
