Hi,
I'm having some trouble working out how to animate sprites. I have a sprite sheet with lots (150+) of sprites of the same character. How would I go about using the sprites on the sheet to animate, without having to cut the sheet up into individual sprites?
Thanks,
Robot.

You can use GM's built-in sprite editor to turn them into an animation by splitting it into subimages.

You will have to cut the huge sheet into small sprites anyway, but luckily for you, GM can do this for you, in one of the sprite windows, there is an option named create from strip in the file menu.

Yeah when I was new and I didn't know how to use that I used to cut them all out seperately, got better and better at it lol. I don't need to use the strip organiser thingie
But yes you can use the bulit-in GM sprite editor thingie to turn them into subimages.

:-/... turns out I've gotta cut it up anyway... the images aren't all uniformly distributed.
