Oaklands is a 3d first person shooter inspired by Call Of Duty and Soldier Of Fortune, but free. After completion it will have LOADS of weapons, LOADS of levels, LOADS of characters and be LOADS of fun. So far it has 12 unique weapons (based on real life weapons), 7 different profiles (custom profiles will come soon), and multiplayer capability.

There are 2 game modes so far: Bots and Multiplayer. There is only one map so far, but there will be more coming soon. In bots you fight against the AI who strive to kill you. In multiplayer you can join your friends on our 24 hour server in epic battles. In the menu you can change the settings: FPS, resolution, fullscreen. Soon you will be able to change controls, mouse sensitivity and more.

I am passionate about making Oaklands the best it can be. I will constantly updating it and plan a release within the week.

Current version: 0.1.0

SCREENYS (sorry the images are so bad. Video will come soon)

:P Just generally. The graphics don't look too demanding, yet I'm only getting 33/45 FPS, and my computer's pretty beastly.

Really? 33?

I downgraded the gfx because of speed (and size)

Remember you can cap the FPS at 30.

I only get about 18 FPS... my computer is kinda old... but not THAT old!!! Great start besides the need for optimization.

The 3D is more advanced than most Gamemaker FPS's. However maybe you should take some more time on working on graphics, improving the enemies and terrain etc.

And you need more optimization with the weapons. :rambo

The website is my partners responsibility, and he is a slacker (At least I get 24/7 .exe hosting Posted Image)

And you need more optimization with the weapons. :rambo

I plan a weapon system rework in the future to include chambered rounds, sliding bolts, attachments, prone (on the ground) and most importantly torso twist (to simulate rearwards recoil)

I would add a draw distance cutoff (covered up by fog, of course), or, past a certain distance, use a sprite instead of a 3D model.

Also, your trees look rather complex compared to the character models; I would reduce the number of trees or the number of polygons in each tree, and instead add to the characters to make them look somewhat good. Everything else looks pretty good, though!

All in all, it's pretty good, better than most GM FPSs I've seen... just... work on making it run faster....

Thanks, Ill take that into consideration.

I tried to make every model as low poly as possible while still looking decent.

Faster is a pretty repetitive word. I definitely need to take that into consideration.
