First off, let me apologise for not reading all 14 pages of this topic, i skimmed them, and got the gist.

My question is, however, is it legal to even import/export GMK files without permission from yoyo?

GMK files are just text files with different extensions. That's all a file is. You can't have 'rights' over a filetype.

Anyway, posting an update soon on GmIDEI posted an update of what I want to work on and the new process of designing the IDE.
