Or what do You call someone who spreads commercial comments concerning DVD's across the Forums, ....
I first thought i'd comment "what do this have to do with the Forum?", but then i noticed i had seen something similar before .....
And then i saw a variant of the commercial comment in another Forum Area, and then a third.
Since i wasn't curious about the titles, i didn't click any of the links, and since it now looks like spam, i won't.

What do You do in cases like this?
(The "Topics" have references to the TV-series it seems to commerses. Thus far, i have noticed the Big Bang Theory, Law and Order, and i think it was Two and a half men ..... i expect there to be, or become, at least two more, since the two examples i've looked at refers to two or three more TV-series ..... )

On the bottom left corner of the post is a ""Report" button... press it and report the post to the mods. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you reply as this may cause more spam to be posted AND may result in banning or a warning...

I have only noticed three Threads of that kind thus far:
One each in GM Community, 3D, and Sounds.
If there are any more, they are buried further.

I actually wouldn't have noticed them if you didn't point them out. I actually agreed with them until they started with "Two And A Half Men is well written", that's just spam...

But no, you're just meant to report it and ignore it. I still remember good old ForexBest (or whatever it was called), first spam to ever try to scam me over PM. It was slightly annoying but it did show me how easily some community members were confused by it. I really think there should be some form of "Spam Report" forum to alert the community of spamming profiles until a moderator can deal with it to prevent confusion.

I wouldn't worry about posting in the topic though, it was a simple mistake, the mods here won't lynch you for little mishaps, just make sure not to make a habit of it.

Only one spammer? Really? Gosh. That's a captcha win, actually. When I was an administrator around here I had to delete several spam accounts on a daily basis.

Actually, the main part of the text focus on the title in the "topic name", with the "DVD"-links(it is probably a bad idea to follow those links)squished in.
I think it was the Big Bang Theory it was actually referring to, by that logic.
But i reacted a bit like You myself:
How can they place Two and a half ... among those, and say it is well written, even?
But i didn't consider it spam until i noticed that it actually was commercial-like, had irrelevant links squished into its own line of reasoning, and was totally irrelevant for the forum it was posted in.
(I'm fairly new on the 'net(summer-autumn -09), so i haven't encountered this kind many times yet .....)
And when i looked at the Community, and saw another, i became certain.

I think you're "Spam Box" manages to cull most of them.

And Catelf, don't worry about it, when I first went online I almost gave away all my personal details to some random advert guy in an attempt to "Win Ģ1,000"! I only stopped when I noticed several porn ads around the "survey" I was filling out and it asking me to "verify that you are 18 to access this site". I'm still surprised it took me that long to catch on.

Moral of the story: Report spam topics, don't reply in them, and don't post topics asking/complaining about spammers. :)

Good hustle.

A @&#*! spammer ? :)

What do You do in cases like this?

As "Mark13673" already mentioned, that is what the "report" button (at the lower-left of every message) is for. Just tell us that its spam and we will check it out and delete it if neccessary (as I did with that DVD-spam)

You can also use it for requests to the Moderators, like moving a thread to another subforum, or to report abusive language and such.

For the rest ? We, the moderators, also keep an eye out for it and are sometimes even able to remove it without it ever being reported (Yay for us :) ).
