Use a tool like Firebug or the built-in developer tools in Chrome (Ctrl+Shift+I) to locate your issue.

Not the most attractive site , needs spicing up. Personally I would make a new design. The two boxes need to be aligned. The Username text input is too long and runs out of the box. I would add some padding/margins on the nav bar too. During loading, there is a lot of margin above the header, then when it finishes, the margin decreases. I'm not at home with my dev tools to diagnose it, sorry.

Yeah, use FireBug, but also The Web Developer's Toolbar, which has some really great tools.
