Ok then, new change with a huge impact on gameplay : Each bought part can be placed once on each Core. That means that there is a whole new strategy behind the game !
Another great change : all message boxes are now nice and clean with an equal border on the top and the bottom, looks much more professionalThe Map Editor is now nice and useable, and you can already create easily some sweet missions.

New version with a great optimization on the whole board : Buildings, Parts namely weapons and projectiles all have more effective scripts. Overall an easy 3 fps gained all around.
Also fixed a few glitches and typos, and added a few things.

Feedback appreciated :)

New link, and another 5 fps gained by removing "draw background color" which was black, and basically just a huge waste of processing power

Another legal bump, with a new version in which all the building related problems were solved and ally ships now target correctly

Is this considered as excessive bumping ?

Anyways, the game has now been optimized to handle large number of enemy related objects :) . Mission 1 can now run on my lame computer with 80 enemies, all weapons fired and ai etc, without dropping under 30 fps ^^

Bump, I'm going to stop working on this for some time, and I've removed or changed a couple of obsolete features

Edit : Come on, 9 posts in a row ... Oh well ^^

I know how you feel with the bumping - I've had 7 in a row in my 'Frontier' Topic...Posted Image

For that, I'll download your game and try it out! Posted Image

EDIT:

Wow. Now that's what I call a game. It's pretty advanced, I have to say - I'm really impressed. The only negative I'd say is that the tutorial is too short - could you add one for the actual gameplay, not just the hangar?

Incredible game, though - nice. I'll give you a (+) for that!

where do i start, i love this game, Final Core really has alot to offer RTS games, the mix of an RPG style element is an act of genius on your behalf Tab, nice work.

in missions most of the time your outnumbered :D, but i love that, it's the way games are meant to be, crushing you as you try to fight back, when i was loosing i got so hyped up with what i was playing and the fact that my guys were slowly pushing the enemies back that i yelled, "THIS....IS.....SPARTA!!!!" XD, that means,..... it was awesome i loved it every second, the ship designer was great and im curious on how you made it, the controls are simple and intuitive, at first I had trouble understanding construction of buildings, on the mission where you have to collect the yellow stuff (sorry forgot the name of it) and i couldnt build any turrets. but i quickly figured it out :)

The frame rate..... WOW, with everything happening on screen at once, the frame rate is epic, i dont think it ever dropped under 30 :)

all in all, A VERY NICE GAME, not much improving could be done, except, this may however lower the frame rate slightly, make the ship sections glow, and pulsate there colours by using image_alpha, just my personal opinion :)

Overall 9.8/10

for the game maker rating 5/5

Thank you very much :)

Here's my current to-do list for when I have time, any additions to it will be gladly appreciated so keep the feedback coming :) :

- Remove the mission creator button, since it's too complicated/not worth implementing and makes the game feel unfinished
- Add help and tips in missions if you chose to use the tutorial
- Prevent mousing over buttons causing information messages to replace important plot messages
- Add a special "High Graphic Effects" mode

Just a little touch of humor, although it sucks I know ^^'

Anyways, any feedback is greatly appreciated as always, preferably feedback on how my game is bad so that I can change it before I leave the world of programming for 3 years :( ...

I have found that building small cheap ships with mostly guns on them
is the easiest way to win.
If you could balance it a bit more so that more expensive ships are worth it.

Well I could increase the base price of building ships ^^, but this problem is solved later on

Thanks, I'll see what I'll do.
