your theory about fades providing song structure does not seem credible.Uh, they sound kinda electric or maybe techno. Or differing, I dunno. I'm not a music expert. I liked them.

This is my experience of the first 5 minutes:
I like adventure games, but something about this one didn't sit right with me.
On the music, after listening to each track individually I did not hear one track that did not have unique parts, each song was definitely put together that way purposefully and are not just extended loop sequences as commodore swift suggests.

Play the game for longer and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't matter if having a fade makes the beginning of the track "unique." They all get extremely tiresome after 10 minutes or so, and some minor variation on a loop doesn't really help. You shouldn't really be judging the music separately from the game in the first place.

Ah well. Some people never seem to learn, do they?
But in all seriousness, I never particularly got into Ark22. There were annoying hit-box glitches and the story didn't make a big impression on me (it wasn't terrible though).
The music was alright. Kind of repetitive, but certainly not 'six second loop' repetitive.

Great game [I discovered it just now]. For some reason, it reminds me very much of the Pokemon RPGs, although it's more akin to Aveyond.

Although it is incredibly flawed I enjoyed Ark 22 a ton back in 2007 and still enjoy it today. I have a feeling it just has a quality that some people recognize and enjoy. If it is ignored the entire game most likely seems awful.
