**Uses RTS-like MOUSE MOVEMENT. Laptop mouse pads not recommended...


I tried to focus on detailed gameplay that has some depth. Although the mouse-movement kinda gets in the way of things, I am trying to make combat in this game very technical (with elements from a 2-D fighter) that can be both used in hunting down mobs and bosses, and even in PvP (ignore the lag tho, mate :v).

This game is redeemed to be very interesting and fun WHEN played with other players, especially with the Group Quests/Dungeons and massive Team-vs-Team systems that are out there. Problem is, it's extremely short on player-base at the moment. Though I can't ask for much (and I certainly won't ask for much), any effort to contribute and invigorate the community for other players and inviting other friends to hope on the boat will be deeply appreciated. One easy step is to register and use the forums ;D


Because this is the GMC, I'll post some systems and features here:
1. Fully-working stats system along with level system. Hunt down mobs, level up, and use the stat points earned to power up your character.
2. Neat inventory system. Has multiple tabs, multiple slots, and multiple stacks. Interface is fairly easy to grasp.
3. Completely functional Skills system. Everytime you reach a level, learn new skills and add them to your list. Use skill points earned upon leveling up to use fancy and awesome skills~
4. Working buffs and debuffs system. With a wide-range of buff and debuff types, combat becomes interesting- whether it be against mobs or other human players.
5. Combat system used in hunting, PvP, or GvG. Use different moves successfully and chain attacks together to create interesting combos to help you aid your fight.
6. PvP and GvG (up to 20 vs 20) (removed temporarily after CBT2). Involves a rather intuitive and challenging combat.
7. Job customization using a unique class system that gives the player a chance to mishmash and create his/her own class for every new character.
8. Beginner-friendly environment and easy leveling. (Do note that CD OBT is running at 5x EXP for testing purposes)
9. PvE / GvE elements, to satiate your boredom when you feel like you're just grinding time away.
10. Neat and simple graphics. I tried to keep it at a simplistic style of graphical representation, going for the cute look. Be warned, there are many placeholders at the moment)
11. Character customization, supported by the cute graphics. (customize face, skin, hat/armor, etc.)

I guess that's it... Please enjoy it and give back some feedbacks :)


Regarding hacking: I'd rather have you not, but yeah...
Please tell and report after all hacking attempts so that the game can get better :<


Again, it'd be great if you can give feedback, suggestions, or a simple comment after trying the game out ._. (JOIN THE FORU---...)
Commenting here would definitely help a lot since I will notice it right away and will help me see what is good and wrong with the game (no, it's not like I need it for bumping the topic up or anything... right ;D ?)

This is a mere testing phase. Server will usually not be on 24/7. It is hosted in Central U.S. Latency may vary depending on physical distance between connections.
Accounts have not carried over from CBT4, and accounts created during this testing phase WILL NOT carry over to future testing phases/ major releases.

I played it for 10 minutes, then I had to get off the computer. It's fun. But the graphics could be improved. I looks like someones first game maker game with the bonus of online. Not bad though.

There hasn't been much effort put into the graphics yet xD ... but someone's first game maker game huh O_o must've pretty came off bad to you then. By graphics do you mean the environment and backgrounds? Or something else...?

But again, I only liked the PvP and GvG of this, so I guess I never actually put much time into the grinding concerns...

The enviroment and backgrounds look kinda ripped. The difference in quality in the sprites and the backgrounds are too different. It That's why it seems like you ripped some backgrounds off. I know I did that with my first game ^-^
Are you planning to do your own backgrounds and enviroment later?

Oh yeah, I will replace them of course xD They're mostly place holders (actually maybe nearly everything is ._.;;)the backgrounds are just google pics, some tree/bush sprites are ripped.
If it's the quality issue, it'll be somewhat easy to change them up :) Thnx for the feedback!

And thanks to everyone so far who downloaded the game- total of 8 or 9 new users since the OP making a total of 37 registered players :D
Except I rarely see more than 2 online... Still, I appreciate everyone's care to try the game out :D

Next update is being quickly worked on to fix known bugs and to make everything server-sided monsters.

Sorry about that magma. You'll have to use the alternate links. After host-a.net had that weird downtime w/e, my account got messed up and they seem to have no intention of fixing it even after I contacted them several times... Heck can't even make a new acc >_>

@Darken
What type of graphics (since it's so general) should I change? Let's say like the top 3 most urgent ones :D
would be nice if everyone else who thinks the graphics are bad answered this question too. More environment graphics (and not square blocks)? Background (floor) texture quality? etc.

As for the next patch, which is progressing unevenly (but definitely getting better!), I think it should be released in the first week of August. It will have lots of new securities due to server side monsters; so if anyone wants to save up an unbanned account while hacking, it might be your last chance ;D Anyways till then, for all you active players out there- please bear with the "M" map bug TT

New patch is done!
Now every single monster in the game (except the tutorial ones) are SERVERSIDED.
I'm sure True Valhalla is happier now :D

It's a verrrrrry *bad* and annoying system of patching, so please bear with it until a better method is made :'(
To apply the patch to a previous version:
1. Download the patch zip file from http://lifeoffantazia.tripod.com/
2. Unzip the contents. Password is "lof" (no quotations)
3. Replace the executive inside with the previous version's executive
4. Run the game!



The changelog is included, but I will list some of the important ones here nonetheless;;
ChangeLog, CBT2 v0.1.0bb to CBT2 v0.1.1bb

Bug of being able to bypass the level 34 barrier has been fixed.
Statistics for the Vinelle's Team Trial 1's final boss has changed.
Empty Floor's Team Trial 2 is now inaccessible until further notice.
Periodic general information will be given on the chat log. All information notifiers have changed their colors.
Periodic Mileage log-in bonus have been changed. Gain intervals have increased from each 10 miniutes to each 30 minutes of login. Mileage amount has been changed from 1mile/min to 1.6mile/min (50 in 30 min).
Bug of the world map popping up even while typing messages have been fixed.
Level up animation added.
Chats are now all global. Everyone's chats will appear regardless of maps.
VIT stat now raises less defense.
Stat Reset IS NOW LEVEL 12 (NOT LEVEL 20).
Game now starts windowed.
Chat spam prevention added.
Log-in spam prevention added.
Game icon added!
Incomplete Whisper function and Inventory view function have been completely removed for now.
All monsters are now SERVER SIDED. -All exp's are split in ratio of the % of damage dealt to the enemy's maximum HP. This exp can only be received if you are in the same room at the moment of the monster's death.

It's been closed testing for a while, but ppl decided for a day of dbl exp and drop rate.... and so I decided to make it go public for a day or two.

Haha xD yeah, it's been a while.
Unfortunately, I worked on this for only a month or two out of that one-year period;;
aaand I'm gonna be gone for a while, not to mention I still have to work on implementing a couple of more big systems in there.
Then I'll finalize the server-sided monster system, b/c to be frank, it's not as good as I wish it to be.

Looks really good, keep up the good work.
I couldn't work out how to do much, only thing I didn't like was the cloud texture on the main menu and how it kept logging me out every time I made a new something... so yeah awesome so far.

Oh nice, a comment of the graphics. I'll make the login screen flashy next time then ;)
And I guess I can make it not log you out each time you make a character...
can't really say anything against that since it happened b/c I was lazy about coding it xP

Anyways gonna be gone for 2 or 3 days straight. Put up x2 exp and drop AGAIN, and hopefully the server stays up w/o me supervising it once in a while... have a phun partay!!

Grinding isn't really a good/fun thing in a game. Most game developers are trying to eliminate it in their games. You probably shouldn't put it as one of the main features.

Well it wasn't really a "main feature", and neither did I really present it in a serious tone-
but I'll get rid of it nonetheless.


So the server held up 3 days straight by itself. yay~
in celebration, I'll put up x3 exp and x3 drop until the next release :3 and here's the fourth 3 in the sentence.
