Seriously. What the hell is this? If we could afford an ad-free forum when the userbase was 1/4 of the current size, there are no excuses.

The old forum was much better/clearer than this new layout... not a fan of the new layout. The adds should definitely be removed.

I totally agree that at least something has to happen with the adds. Let them fit nicely in the layout or something, because this is way to annoying.

I like the new layout,
though, the ads is the only thing that is really bothering me.
I also thing the ads are making the forum slower.
Replying and editing feels way slower.

There's only thing to do with the ads. Remove them. I can't believe they would even try this.

If you don't believe, why did you made the topic?
//There are ad-blocking plugins for every browser today, in case it bothers you
//But: don't use ADTwhart for google chrome. It likes to eat photobucket images.

It's a figure of speech that expresses shock. He's not literally saying that he doesn't believe there are adverts.

If YoYo didn't bring up the ads on the GMC, I wouldn't have searched for an ad removal plugin. Now I have the YoYo main page free of ads too.

I really don't feel sorry at all for computer literate people who complain about ads.
Just get an ad blocker.

The avatar of robert680 expresses exactly what I think when I read such topic; get FireFox and get AdBlock Plus!! IE into the recycle bin!

Please stop. Noone wants to be preached to about Firefox. I'm never using it unless I have to, and that is certainly not for the GMC. I'll search for an adblock thing for IE, and I will search until I find one.

EDIT: Grammer.

Honestly, ads are a part of life and anyone who isnīt used to them or lets them interfere with their life really should be psychotic by now!!!

In most countries the television (except in Britain with the BBC and Spain with the TVE... there may be others but I donīt know them) have adverts AT LEAST every 15 minutes... If you pick up a magazine there are adverts EVERY PAGE! When you walk down the main street of any town you have loads of adverts all around you! So why not here? They help pay the bills and may ( I say may) help with the future developement of GM. Yes, it sucks, but itīs a part of life...

Oh, and I personally donīt see them anyway... Firefox/AdBlock+ are a winning combination!

How stupid.

The ads are up, and everyone either wants them down or is blocking them. Those who block it- Suggesting keeping them up is spiteful to your fellow members, like, you have AdBlock and so everyone else deserves to suffer.

If you block the ads, you agree that they should not be there. With that in mind, GearGOD, your suggestion is receiving much praise, including mine. They're ugly.

[Although it would be ok if the ads were on 2 pages: Pre-login and Redirect.]

I don't mean I want others to suffer from the ads, I also find them highly annoying (on YYG main site, lost of ads for a stupid farm game, come on, who ever want that!?) when I'm at school where they use IE (noobs) but if it would keep Game Maker alive then so be it. Not saying they give a very professional feel to their website and personally I wouldn't become a member of an ad-infested forum so fast if I were new to it.

The only thing what bothers me a bit is the fact that YoYo Games has now YoYo-rized the GMC... remember YoYoGames says that their Forum is "only" related to playing games and the GMC is for actually GameCreators... I think putting in Ads in the GMC brings much more money because of the fact that here are much more viewers than in the YoYoGames forum.
Either way you look at it the Ads aren't much of a problem to me... it's more the problem that we now have 2 YoYoGame-Forums which is completely a waste of server-capacity ^____^

Edit: And additional I don't think there have been any "hacker-attacks" at all to force anyone to put the GMC in a gremlin-green YoYoGame outfit ^__^
