The anti-virus is flawed, it's a false positive.Don't flame the thread! We still need answers!
If using AVG, there was an update that fixed it.

Now lets continue.
Please, let's continue to talk about the subject matter at hand. Which is that you are, in fact, using an outdated and an all around poor "ant-ivirus" program.
I suggest if you have an AOL account to download the special McAfee package AOL offers which can be found here: http://daol.aol.com/...virusscan-plus/
Even though I think AOL is the worst online service in the world, it still offers free software especially software with more free hours than are in a month.

He meant for AVG... I'm using Kaspersky. And it hasn't updated.Aw my god, read the freaking posts. TheMagicNumber said that there's been an update for it. Download it. Or disable your anti virus, either one. You're too busy whining about the spam that you aren't helping yourself."No moderator," more like. Boy, are they in for a surprise...
So does a false-positive problem usually take a little while to solve? I want to work on my games!
Ah, thank you.Yes, depending on your anti-virus, it should be fixed soon. It has already been fixed for AVG users.

I deleted around 27 posts and edited a few others. Stop with the spam and flaming. Or else. Or else what? Exactly.

the worst part is, it treats every game I run as a separate application:

I use kaspersky and I e-mailed them about the problem

YES! Nice screenshot! That's *exactly* what I get! "Constructor.Win32.IDL.fb." What I don't understand is why different antivirus programs are detecting different things (or maybe they just call it different things?). Because of the separate application thing, I think I have something like 23 detected GM programs! Let's hope they get to the problem soon.
I contacted their live support team and they told me to e-mail this adress: newvirus@kaspersky.com
I suggest you e-mail them too. The more people e-mailing them the faster they will solve it.
Game Maker worked fine until kaspersky updated, then things went to hell

For an explanation of why the program is calling it a trojan is that the game may be trying to write files to the hard drive, and that can be suspicious.

Seriously, since the day I joined this forum I've seen topics like this pop up over and over. Your anti-virus software may hold part of the blame, but GM shouldn't be counted as a virus in the first place unless the anti-virus is picking up some form of byte code that it doesn't like.
What error are you guys getting exactly?
(By the way, I think it's always problems with Kaspersky so it may just be your anti-virus, again, I suggest you just get a real anti-virus program such as AVG or McAfee.)

Ok, this whole "Gamemaker is a virus!" thing is starting to get really old.

Life insurance does nothing for you if you are dead. So its a sad day nonetheless. You may get a bruise now and then and live, but the day you break your neck and aren't covered is a sad day for you.
Also, I too do some online banking. The problem why everybody uses AV is because they are stupid enough to use IE (and 54.50% are still stupid enough). Also, if you don't download everything you possibly can then you are safe too. Just use brains.
FunnyI've had sex without condom for many years now. I'm sure I have viruses but I did not die yet and my erections are still strong LOL...

Agree with the second part, but strongly disagree with the first. The problem why everybody uses AV is because they are stupid enough to use IE (and 54.50% are still stupid enough). Also, if you don't download everything you possibly can then you are safe too. Just use brains.
In this respect at least, IE fulfills the definition of "Web browser": it is a program for browsing the Web. You Antivirus and Firewall should be the programs to protect the computer, it's not the Browser's job to do it. FireFox is NOT a browser. With all its plug-ins, it is a sub-OS.
(Sorry, FF keeps screwing up my W3C standards-compliant code - as does Chrome. IE is (surprisingly) the only browser to actually display it right. Now if it weren't so damn slow...)

Because I don't have any viruses, and nor do I have an antivirus. If I find something suspicious, I sandbox it. If I still find it suspicious, I debug it under a sandbox. If I accidentally let anything slip, which is incredibly rare, then I just remove it - viruses always target the same places: Browsers (BHOs, add-ons, and plugins), Windows startup (start menu and registry), Windows services, and Windows drivers.FunnyI've had sex without condom for many years now. I'm sure I have viruses but I did not die yet and my erections are still strong LOL...
.. But still not even a real analogy.
Saying that, no virus has ever tried to destroy my entire hard drive... if it did, I could probably recover most of the data anyway, but letting a virus like that slip past my censor would be near impossible.
Now tell me, how do you sandbox a woman? More to the point, how on earth do you debug her and possibly modify her? And how would you go about manually removing a virus from your own body?
