I have created the extension for the Super Sound System dll by tzg1zzn. I also make the help file for it. No more having to add the dll to the download of your games as well as a hassle of including all the scripts. Now it is much easier. I have tested it out and it appears to all be working. Please let me know if you run into any snags.
Download Here

The link got broken when yoyogames changed their site. Now it's in sandbox not main site. I just fixed the link.

You should probably ask tg1zzn for permission before posting such a thing.....

This is only on the second page but I'll post anyways. Thanks for turning this until a GEX. I was about to do the same thing to eliminate the need to have random files cluttering up the game root, when I stumbled into this topic.

Very helpful and has all of the functions of Super Sound that I remember. Perhaps you should rename it 3.4 instead of 1.0 as I was a bit confused if this was Super Sound's old 1.0.0.0 release.

Again, thanks a lot! :medieval:

Why won't it play mp3's??? I'm using GM8 pro and it simply won't load/play them... Using the same code for simple loading and playing, wav's and ogg's play, but not mp3's. Is this just a gm8 compatibility issue???

@Drathro.
SuperSound isn't designed to use MP3s.
Also avoid MP3s if you plan to distribute your games, free or paid, as the minute 5000 copies exist, you owe the format holders $2500. Ogg is free to use.

What converter should i use to convert mp3's to ogg or wav files? I orginally was using mp3 2 ogg converter which worked perfectly well until I need to convert really short sound files which wouldn't load. Then I switched to Audacity, however, supersound isn't recognizing the files I converted using audacity but it is recognizing the files i converted using mp3 to ogg converter.

Here's a link to the GEX, I added the missing function "SS_IsHandleValid(handle)" as it was not in the extensions for some reason although it was mentioned in the help file.

https://app.box.com/...as9nvunppr872tw

Edit:

Nevermind, as apparently that does not exist on the DLL, removed that function, U/L a new version.
