Anaglyph Engine 1.0

Credit to amd42 for the surface fix gex.

3D version now available as a .gex! Here is the topic!

I have made an "engine" to make it very easy to make stereoscopic games. It allows you to easily give games the option to go into anagyphic mode, which would be great for players with 3D glasses lying around. You can create new game based on the merge files, and it is also fairly easy to impliment into existing projects (about 5-10 minutes).

Features:
Instantly switch anaglyph mode on/off.
It works with any camera orientation.
Easily change the options in the options script.
Only uses two objects and three scripts (and a gex in 3D).
Works fine in 3D (although the surface fix gex is required).
(new) You can now get the 3D version as a .gex!!! (Topic)

Bugs:
No bugs reported.

In next version:
No suggestions yet.

If you use this in a game, please post a link to it. If you find any bugs, big or small, please tell me. If you have any suggestions for V2.0, please post aswell.

By the way, because I lost my 3D glasses half way through making this, I'm not entirey sure if everything is working correctly. Testers woud be appreciated.

2D and 3D engine (merge files)
Download: anaglyph_engine.zip

3D engine (.gex)
Download: anaglyphEngineGex.zip

Hope someone uses it,
-Alex

i had to set the eye separation to 20 and the c_red to c_maroon for it to work for me, but when it did it looked pretty cool (I got really crappy 3d glasses)

I can't register GM8, so I wouldn't be able to test it. It woud be cool if someone could do this for me though. I've never seen yellow/blue glasses before, does it produce a good 3D effect compared to the red-cyan ones?

Well, one of the main problems with Red/Cyan glasses is that computer monitors can't draw true cyan, just a good approximation, which leads to being able to (very) faintly see part of the image meant for the other eye. I presume Yellow/Blue don't have this problem, but Red/Cyan were more popular. You can also get Green/Magenta glasses.

As a note: make_color_rgb(0,255,255) is c_aqua

Primary colours:
c_red = Red (255,0,0)
c_green = Green (0,255,0)
c_blue = Blue (0,0,255)

Secondary colours:
c_aqua = Cyan (0,255,255)
c_fuchsia = Magenta (255,0,255)
c_yellow = Yellow (255,255,0)

Just so everyone knows, I read on the internet that the red-cyan filtering glasses aren't accurate. They intentionally made the red filter darker, and the cyan filter lighter, which causes ghosting because some red light is let through cyan filter. They said it was to increase 3D depth or something, but I don't like how it drastically increases ghosting.

The red/cyan's are more traditional, but green-magenta ones (trioscopic) and yellow-blue one's are available too. I think the green-magenta one's work better that the red/cyans.

Oh, and thanks for pointing out c_aqua. I added a constant c_cyan to my *.gex, but now it's kinda redundant. :(

This isn't working, probably because I'm using GM6. It just doesn't make anything 3D.

Try changing the settings. Which version did you get BTW?

Also, make sure to read F1 help file.

This is very good and working, but I have a problem. In the rooms where anaglyph and anaglyph2 objects are the background disappears, how to fix that?
