This looks nice- extremely professional, in terms of both the layout and content.

That being said, being a spriter myself and wanting to get better, I looked at the tutorial section- and I didn't get what I really hoped for.

The style in the tutorials is not really pixel art... I almost fainted when I saw "gradient tool" in the last one...

The sprite packs look great though.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I understand what you mean about the tutorials. However, there are loads of different ways and styles of spriting. I prefer to use vector graphics and a more of a cartoon style to my sprites. Though I have done some more pixel art style sprites as you can see from the sprite packs.

A very professional website indeed.
However I don't like the fact I have to pay for the sprites =/
Oh well. Good job.

Thanks for the comment. Only some of the sprites are for sale. They are for sale mainly because they contain a lot more content and animations than the free ones.

What do other people think of the website?

Have you taken per-hour cost into account? That's a lot of resources for only about an hour's wage on the spriter's side! Enough to make a game with.

Ok, I can understand that the prices might be too high for some people. However, like Old School Gaming said, if you consider how much content there is in each sprite pack it would certainly be worth the price. Some of the sprite packs have 100+ sprites so I would say the prices are quite reasonable.

Has anyone played the games and what do you think of them?

I played The Castle and Dragon Dive. I think they display your prowess as a spriter, and are fun, yet both a little short. I really like the kind of game The Castle is.

You should make a sequel with more challenges. I would play it, for sure.

Thanks for playing the games Ethan718. My favourite is probably the Castle game too. I am certainly thinking about making a sequel to it.

Just to update people on the website, I have added a new Memory Test game. Also, I have another game which is on it's way soon. You can read about it in the news section.

Thanks that would be really useful. If you do decide to write a tutorial, then please pm me to discuss it.

If anyone else is interested in writing a tutorial for SpriteLand then could I ask you to pm me to talk about it. I would be looking for tutorials on either creating games in gamemaker or on creating graphics for games like sprites, backgrounds or tilesets.

Those are nice comics, though I am not really sure they fit in with the style I'm after. I'm in the process of writing/drawing some comics for the site so check on that section soon.

Thanks, I am assuming you mean when you hover the mouse over the main links it creates an alt tag type of effect. I do know how to turn that off - I just wanted to make the site more accessible for all kinds of users. If I need any help with the site I will bare you in mind.

One of the better websites I've seen on this community, it certainly follows the KISS pneumonic, and is very professional overall. Simple yet elegant template, good layout and some useful content on there, although your sprite packs are a bit too high, don't want to tell you how to do things but perhaps 4.95 would be more, pleasing to the customer's eye, just a suggestion?

5/5 Great job!

An interesting little comic, but I'm not sure it's really suited for this site.

Thanks for the great comments luis148. Yeah, I did try to keep the design fairly simple so that it was easy to navigate and understand. I might consider adjusting the pricing of the sprite packs. Thanks for your suggestion. :)

I've updated the website, so now all of the resources for game making can be found under the 'Develop' section. This includes things like tutorials and sprites.

Thanks very much. I'm glad you think they are worth the price. 3 sprite packs are currently for sale, and 3 are free.

Thank you 'Created By Ben'. I wanted to keep the design straight forward and easy to navigate. I'm glad you like the content too.

Also, I'm looking for more tutorials. If anyone would like to write a tutorial on game making or sprite making, to be included on my site, then please PM me. In return you will be credited and a link can be given back to your own website.

"CLIMBING MAN SPRITE PACK" gives you an archer. I double checked, and it does.

I've added a new sprite pack which can be found in the develop section. The comics section has also been updated to show more interesting comics.

Also, check out the new 'Walk the Plank' game section of the website:

It will be great to hear what you think?

Lots of new sprites have been added. You can find them on this page.

Also, I have created a Sprite Maker tool which allows you to create great sprites in seconds. You can find it here.

Thanks,
