Draw smokey things with this drawing tool.

It's like water painting on a very wet canvas. Use to make clouds, explosions, nebulae and other smokey things

New Version uses surfaces all the way. FAST!!

I extracted both files to desktop (dll and exe) and it tells me there's an error defining an external function.
did you miss something? wrong dll? it looks cool though...in those tiny screenshots.

it works, and it's pretty neat. wasn't quite as amazing as I was expecting, but it's still very cool. nice job.

You can change the granularity to a bigger grid... To be able to draw more stuff. A use for it is creating explosion clouds I found, or sprites related to clouds and fire to be used in the particle system. Not quite the original use I wanted though.

With a large grid you can make nice nebulas but your system better be strong enough to deal with the large area without lag anoying the artist... But the final result (hold space) is prety neat.

yep, I tried 256 and it ran at about 2fps. I set it to 64 and it was only laggy when I held space.
I tried 16 too but it was too big for me. I never really thought about making cloud sprites though, cool.

Nice effect... At first I couldnīt think of any possible use for it (except for playing with!) but I need some clouds in my current WIP and this may actually be a pretty neat way to create them... And reading the above posts I see Iīm not the only one to have thought this.

Interesting and good work as always Icuurd!

I was getting frustrated when I tried making the granularity 200 and it was lagging to the point where it wasnt drawing, and it looked too pixelated for me at 60.
Then I realized you hold space to see the actual picture ha. It has a really cool waterpaint effect to it like you said, I filled the screen with some random colors and then took it into Paint and inverted it, and it looked like a decent background of clouds. The blurriness is almost too much to handle though.

The grid thing defines how large the blending will be. The smaller the grid, the larger the blending. The bigger the grid you will have finer blenind but 200 is WAY TO MUCH... 124 works for me but that is for making very detailed images. On my machine, its fast enough.

I'll probably check to see if I can improve a few things. But this was pretty much a 3 hour experiment

[edit]
New version is up. You can have a little bigger grid now.
The the draw is always smooth

New version uses surface (grid) all the way. I removed the save to model bit and the save actualy saves the surface grid to bmp file.
