Version
0.3

Info
An online-playable platform shooter in which the goal is to kill the other players with various lethal weapons. Suit up your worm and annihilate your friends with various guns and grenades.
Keep in mind that this is a relatively early version, and there is most definitely some bugs and glitches in there.

I can't, actually! I haven't opened that TCP port. So we'll have to wait until someone who has that port open to come along. ^_^ The guy I am making this with is able to host, and he might be online in a few hours. Sorry about that. :D

Make sure to report any bugs you might find, though. We'll fix any game-breaking ones that might come up and upload a fix ASAP.

What a great game, I am most definitely going to be following this. It has smooth online play, a great and colorful chat system, and unique controls.

I'm currently hosting a game, if anyone wants to try it out.

There is definitely something wrong with the game. When when I started a game (hosting) it suddenly started sucking all of my bandwidth. My download in Firedox went down to 20kb/s, and I couldn't load any pages. I thought it was just my internet connection, but immediately after I closed the game, my internet was stable again.

Really? I'll look into that.

Was there anyone else connected, or was it just you?

Nope, it was just me waiting for people to connect ^_^

Edit:
Tried replicating the problem, and it happened again. The "End Game" button also freezes the game when I click it.

Strange, the internet I'm on right now is pretty slow (in a restaurant), and even with the game running pages are loading just fine.

I did make a few changes to the game, though. Before it was sending ~38 bytes a second, now it sends about 14 bytes a second. I'll likely put UDP in shortly, as it's strictly TCP at the moment.

For anyone interested, we'll be playing a few rounds in ~40 minutes. Will be Caniac, Mordi and I.

I'll edit my post once we've started, if anyone wants to join in.

Edit: Forgot to edit my post, whoops!

Anyway, small update. There is a bug with the server list (making it so games don't always appear, they do if you refresh a couple times though). Also, we'll try to release version 0.21 with minor bug fixes and optimization to the networking, possibly within the next few days.

I think JoshALB has fixed some bugs and glitches and whatnot about the networking, but I think we need to test some more. We'll probably upload a 0.21 next week. Not sure.

-i can't aim! i dunno why but it is...
- i use windows 7 but have soem of protection deactivated

It shares obvious similarities with Sci-fi but I didn't use that as a starting point.
I get external function errors too sometimes, but it seems that exiting other programs fixes it. I have found that I have had to close MediaMonkey to be able to load the dlls properly sometimes.
If you get a dll-error your aim won't work. Not sure why. Seems rather illogical.

Looks suspiciously like your wormy game, huh? ;) This feels really polished, but nothing too new other than the superb graphics. Hope to see others on!

It's back!

*praise praise hallelujah mozeltoff praise*
;)

Can't wait to sink my teeth in.

[EDIT]
For some reason, I had a constant 30-ish fps, which would fall way down to about 10 whenever I jumped(fell) far. It might be due to having a quad-core processor, since that's just how Game Maker rolls. I recommend adding a processing priority option, to partially fix this problem.
