Seconded. It's probably the music. It's ALWAYS the music. Is it really essential that you use MP3s?

I have listened to everyone's comments and successfully reduced the amount by about 20 megs. you shouldn't notice a difference, also This is the absolute maximum I could reduce and still keep the quality. Hope you enjoy the game!

Yeah, but some of the MP3s don't play at all on my computer. And of those that do, all but one (the same one as in the trailer) are badly distorted. So there isn't any point in me downloading the 38-meg version. I mean, the game itself is only 2.4 megs, plus about 0.4 for the icons.

Also, the graphics could use some work. I appreciate the fact that it's an abstract game, and I'm guilty of the same thing myself, but nonetheless, playing a game with such good music and such basic graphics feels unbalanced.

Did you download the new 19.9 mb file? If the audio is distorted then it is because all of the audio files are now WMA. Also you can change the music in the options to what you like.

I received a comment from someone that said he would have liked the game better with instructions. I however purposely did not put in instructions for a reason.

First off I wanted the game to be somewhat of an exploration game, finding out how things work, all the way from the basic gameplay to the little nuances of every element. During the latter levels there are challenges that almost have you exploit these characteristics to complete the level. I would almost consider this game more of a half puzzle/ half arcade, (the first half, you actually have to figure out how to beat the level, the second half you have to preform the task). these little exploits which are purposely put in, I believe actually improve the game length and enjoyability. I have seen multiple times throughout the game that there are usually many ways to complete certain levels. This is similar to a game called braid. At the beginning of a world they basically tell you nothing about your special ability, but as you progress, you have to figure out all the little nuances by your self. ------ A prime example in dropper 2 is level 49, it is exactly the same as level 18, other than two blocks are removed. THESE TWO BLOCKS THOUGH ABSOLUTELY SEEMED NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE LEVEL. thus at first glance rendering level 49 as impossible. however the level is very cleverly designed and is passable, it just takes a little bit of out of the box thinking.

Secondly I have structured the game so instead of having a tutorial, or just basically telling you what things do, many of the beginning levels are structured so you have to figure out how things work. The first levels is extremely easy, but it teaches you how to move the ball, You might not see how to do it at first, but if you play around with enough you will eventually figure it out in an almost epiphanic manner. I believe that not including instructions even for the most basic elements actually makes the game more enjoyable. What do you think? (btw the guy that posted the comment gave the game a 4/5 anyway :))

perhaps I will update the game now that it has been a while, also, I am quite disappointed that this game has received so little downloads, less than the first dropper in fact, which is surprising. I am quite disappointed because this is a much better game in almost every aspect.

How many downloads you get isn't just a function of how good the game is. It's a function of how many people hear about it and like it. Being a good game is a big help, but you should advertse your game more if you want more downloads.

whew, its been a year since I have done anything on this game. Now I am proud to announce an update! there is now an added tutorial in the game, more custom levels, a better ending, and quite a few tweaks to the overall game. it should be a better experience. As always you can create a custom level and post it to this forum if you would like others to play it.
