i know it sounds easy for me to do, i tried it but gamemaker still keeps rejecting it saying it only supports 32x32

You may find that the above is anti-aliased which could be a problem.
Try this one:

By the way, what exactly are you trying to do with the image that it's telling you you can't use your original image?
You should be able to use the one you already have under most circumstances.

Are you perhaps trying to use it as an icon? If so, you'll need someone to resize it AND save it as a .ico

yes this. and i already converted my other attemps as a .ico, but it said it only accepted 32x32

and it is STILL telling me that it only supports 32x32 when i used the other ones

Have you converted it with The GIMP? I know that can save as .ico files. Some .ico files are too fancy for Game Maker to handle so you have to be careful not to have anti-aliasing or anything like that.

you can just use ms paint

till recantly i had the same problem as you when i was making my games.
and then i came across the icon maker by yoyogame user. big j its fantastic.
all you need is to use gm to stretch it to 32*32 and then import it.
after that you can save it as a icon or paint somthing in it and more.
