Rampage Tower Defence [RTD] ![]() Hi, I'm currently making my first Game Maker game, Rampage Tower Defence! My sprite thread (If you like my game and you are a good spriter, click here) : HERE Game Maker Version : 7.0 Pro In RTD, your goal is to make towers and upgrade them to stay alive. There will be 3 game mode in CTD, easy, medium and hard (Maybe expert You will be able to choose your map. A pretty good start although still early days. For a first game this is pretty impressive so far. The graphics are pretty good but a bit inconsistent, the turrets looked good and original (I think they were drawn by someone in your sprites thread) but the enemies look like they were taken from somewhere else so don't seem to fit. Everything works fairly well but there do seem to be some issues with balance, the lazer turrets are pretty much useless after a few waves and the enemies move too quickly and you don't get enough money to be able to survive beyond about wave 10. Also it could be a little clearer how much the towers cost when you hover over their icons because it's currently white text on a nearly white background. Also I bought a gun turret when I didn't have enough money and ended up with -6 money. So fix these issues and make it more fair and continue adding variety like new towers, maps and enemies and this could turn out pretty good.
EDIT: I'm just going to try concentrating on upgrading things rather than building more to see if that's a better tactic EDIT: Lol I got to exactly the same wave as before (10) before losing, it really is impossible though because you get no income as soon as you stop doing enough damage I did like the upgrading though, it's always nice to see an improvement to your towers when you upgrade (eg. new sprite) Oh and finally, I hope the sounds you have are only temporary because don't they come with gamemaker? The sounds are temporary ; I'm currently fixing some bugs and making the game easier to play. The monster sprites are from the game CIMA. |

That's a pretty nice game there, but it's very unpolished.
First of, at level 30+ I stopped getting waves. The counter was still ticking and I got gold for each wave, but no enemies came Also, the laser turrets are overpowerd. Thay're way to cheap for the amount of damage they do. Graphics were alright I suppose, not the best, nor the worst. The path tiles might need some shading? The level was a bit bland, but I guess you'll change that later on. Otherwise, good job 7/10 |

I played the game, here is my review:
General: 6/10 Gameplay: 5/10 Sprites: 4/10 Bugs/glitchs: I didnt run into any bugs or glitches while playing. Comments: It was fun, I lasted until wave 14. Do you plan on adding more towers? Because having more towers would definatly make it more fun to play. Also, the enemies didnt fit the style of the game. The path could us some shading. So far though, nice game, your off to a good start. |
