The legend of Zelda Flying Rooster
  • This is fanmade Zelda game, not licensed by Nintendo. All rights and Zelda trademark belongs to Nintendo.
  • Backstory:
In time of Hyrule there have been four legendary heroes, who saved the land of Huryle from the evil. Those four had power compared to goddessess, or as another legend says, they were gods itself. Each one seemed resemble the parts of Triforce; Power, Wisdom and Courage. But one of them was different, because she didn't resemble Goddessess. Her power were granted by people of Huryle.

After the evil was defeated, the four legendary heroes disappeared. Most of the people of Hyrule say the heroes went back to the Heavens they came from. Others think the legend is just a fairytale to tell the children. And some believe that the four godlike heroes are still among them.

    But what really happened..?

Fourth one, had betrayed other ones and sealed them in flows of time. Power of these three other ones were granted by Din, Naury and Farore, who saw Fourth had turned to evil and sealed her in statue. This seal shall not break, unless Fourth one has pure heart ones again.
Thus goddessess couldn't bring three other Heroes back, they made powerful items which will remind everyone about those three Heroes.

Still items true meaning have been forgotten by holders and items doesn't have their original powers...

As legend is told by people, legend changes as people, but memory of Four legendary hero still exists. Its out there, the true legend of Four Heroes.

If you don't want to do fangames anymore then just switch your character's models and create an original game using the same engine.
The video shows plenty of creation / programming skill. It would be a shame to let that work go without some kind of finished game.

If you're asking others for motivation than it's already game over.

Can't say I'm fond of the graphics myself (most other people here probably like it though so keep with it) but certainly I'd find this more interesting if it was a Zelda-clone more than yet another Zelda fangame. If you can come up with your own style, characters, story it would be great.

I have original story (huge one, writing a book) but I dont think
it fits in this style. But, yeah I know it would be easy to change
models to another and use this engine for another game.

I have even thought that, and let my little brother use This engine.
He made "Office Rampage" game, really easily modified this to another.

    ~Drandula~

Edit. Oh yeah, dont just watch video, its old. Game has the newest
    features.

Pretty impressive graphics using just GM's 3D. If you don't have motivation to work on it anymore, then don't. Or if you don't want it to be a fangame simply make it a Zelda type game with different graphics maybe. You said you do have a story but it won't fit well, well, if it's not a Zelda game what's stopping you from making it work? :D

It's okay, though, I hated the tiny resolution, please, if you do continue this, make sure it is ATLEAST 640 X 480, if not 800 X 600, it would look MUCH nicer, and don't make it start on full screen mode, it looks terrible at that resolution! With some work, this could become a quite decent games! I think you should keep working on it, change around the graphics a bit so it isn't just some old fan game! Nice work!

I agree that the resolution is too low. It looks terribly pixellated. If you can fix this, the game would look amazing.

Oh crap, I forgot that totally. Now its resolution is 256*192 (DS resolution), I thought
add button to change resolution 640*480. Sorry about that :S

Yeah yeah, sorry for doublepost, but couple of days have been already gone and its 'major' update.

I have some good and bad news, good news first.

I have source for all of you! I call it Open source Zelda:
    http://www.mediafire...php?mdvytn2moxx

Its somehow commented and you can remove givecredit text
from hud object (draw-event, the last pieces of code)

And bad news, I ripped off Deku and Goron and some other
things that you havent seen graphic demo. Oh yeah, it has
pretty messy code, sorry for all.

    ~Drandula~

    Edit. its for Gm7.0 registered

This is some great chiz! You want motivation? Imagine a 300 page thread about your epic game and how many levels, tools, etc. I see greatness, but I'm far too lazy to commit to anything. You're example was fun for me even though it only had so much demonstration, truly you should keep working and not only work on this game but work in your imagination. I'd love to see this out in full blast and full of content. If I had to change one thing though, it'd be the resolution =/ It was fun but hurt my eyes alot.

    Very nice job here.
I may try working on improving it :D

    Also in
obj_grass replace the drawing method with the following
    d3d_draw_floor(0,0,-0.5,640,480,-0.5,background_get_texture(
    tx_grass),window_get_width()/32,window_get_height(
    )/32)

great engine, ran really smooth. I agree that the graphics aren't the greatest, but it doesn't really matter in such an early stage. I say that you keep working on it!

This is MAGNIFICENT! Youre not looking to join a team are you?

If you dont want to make a Zelda game, i have an original story.

If you can, look at my Slayer Game recruitment topic, in the Team Request forum.

    EDIT:
Also, if you think you will continue this, i have a Zelda game in progress, but it isnt coming along too well. THe story is under developed, but i think i have someone able to rewrite it soon.

I love the engine! If you continue, this should be changed/added:

1: You shouldn't have to hold the button to keep the rock or bush. After picking it up, you should have to push it again to throw it.
2: Can you add hills in the land? Not flat like PH, but "bowls and bulges", like in all of the others?
3: Spikes on the Goron Link would be nice, and it would give you a reason to implement a Magic Meter
4: Inventory. The Items dont have to all be there, but the sword, the Deku seeds, and the Powder Keg would give each Mask something to do, that the others cant. (Besides the fact that Link can also use the Deku Seeds.
5: Zora Link, and the Boomerang Fin Attacks. This would give you a reason to make water, so he can swim. The Boomerangs could be replaced by the barrier attack while under water. Also, a river or two for Deku Link to hop over.

Thats all i can think of that should be in he next demo. I would say enemies, but im not sure how long 3d enemy AI would take.

No, I havent thought join in team, but I go and watch later
    that topic.

Great ideas, and here is the answer:

    1. In first it was like that, but then I noticed an bug, it would
be fixed, if player can pick up object only if there arent other
objects already throwed (there isnt obj_throw).

    2. I dont know how to make a terrain, but if someone can
teach me, I could try that :) First I thought make flat ground,
    like in PH.

    3. I have thought that, but Im too lazy for adding those, I didnt
thought anyone cares :) But that would be easy, some cones
    there and here, and vóila!

    4. I havent started inventory yet, but I think that wouldnt so
hard. I have already thought how stop game and show
inventory. I thought making only two masks, which you can
change pressing 1-3 for fast transforming. You see in graphic
demo, there is three buttons more, one is attack, action and
    item button.

    5. Making zora look good is bit harder thing. It is long and thin,
so for making look good I must add some joints in hands and legs.
And scales in hands must be done... Its hard to do, but if more
people want this, I can start modelling it (First must be drawn in paper,
which has three coordinates). But swimming in ocean with zora
would be fun :) Liked it in MM so I would put camera in behind
zora when swimming like in MM.

Simply enemies like jelly wouldnt be hard to make, but when trying
    make something like wolfes D:

Well, let me know how this goes!

Hey, if youdo say yes to joining my team, we wont be using the Mask forms...

UNless you want to remake MM.

But with this, we can remake OoT, and in 3d!

Yeah, I am fixing some bugs right now (Pick rock, stand next to bush, throw
rock and pickup bush and you see bug - fixed already and some other things),
I am going redraw some textures and hud because of higher resolution.

But, why remake OoT in 3D... Unless make some difference, not exactly
same dungeons, but similar and add some other things.

    By the way :) :

Someone already is, but not in 3d. Also not in the GMC.
