First of all, where does this topic go?

Okay so... when I run my game in :), this error appears:
[codebox]
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Key Release Event for <unknown> Key
for object o_Sound:

Error in code at line 3:
FMODSoundSetLoopPoints(ds_map_find_value(global.so
undMap, global.musicID),0,1);

at position 66: Unknown variable musicID
[/codebox]

so key release event for 'unknown' key?
Well according to game maker, there is no key release event for object o_Sound:
[codebox]Information about object: o_Sound

Sprite: <no sprite>
Solid: false
Visible: true
Depth: 0
Persistent: false
Parent: <no parent>
Mask: <same as sprite>

Create Event:
execute code:

LoadFMOD();
FMODinit(100);
global.soundMap = ds_map_create();
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "title", FMODSoundAdd("Energy.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "setup", FMODSoundAdd("Velocity Philosophy.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "insurrection", FMODSoundAdd("Fast Cut.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "insurrectionBoss", FMODSoundAdd("Stonehenge.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "neptune", FMODSoundAdd("Jolt.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "neptuneBoss", FMODSoundAdd("Kick In.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "apogee", FMODSoundAdd("Mean Theme.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "apogeeBoss", FMODSoundAdd("Unabomber.mp3", false, true));
ds_map_add(global.soundMap, "fissure", FMODSoundAdd("Mach 77.mp3", false, true));

End Step Event:
execute code:

FMODAllStop();
[/codebox]
This must be a game maker error and I cannot fix it since there is obviously no key_release event for that object.

It's in the room creation code. Game maker treats room creation as key event. I have no idea why.

Aha! :) yes you are right. Well that is strange isn't it? Thank you very much. That was confusing me for a long time now... I still consider it a gm bug.

:) Yep, no problem. I had the same issue as well, I found it very odd. Glad I could be helpful.

Can you please be more specific? What do you mean with "it's in the room creation code"?. If there's no code in the room, what makes the error then?
I ask this because I get this error over and over. GM7 also cannot find objects that he could find very well before. And in between there was no altering in the code.

There was an error in my room creation code and game maker tells me it's in the "key release" event for some object which is wrong. It should tell me the error is in the room creation code.

If there's no code in the room, what makes the error then?

There seem to be several things that can trigger this very unhelpful error message, not just room creation code. In my experience it seems to happen mostly (always?) before the game/room has fully started.
