  • Title: UNREG Intro-Story Maker - UPDATED**
  • Description: You can easily make cutscenes or intros or stories for your games, using this example. Just merge this with your game. Now has a FLASH GORDON type theme.
  • GM Version: GM6
  • Registered: Not Required.
  • File Type: .gm6
  • File Size: 3 meg
  • File Link: http://www.event12.c...FlashGordon.gm6
Additional Info:

[*]File Link: Here is a screen shot of this Flash Gordon Unregistered version.

I made an example of a story, opening, cut-scene, whatever
you want to call it. The code is heavily commented.

This can be used freely, without credit, and modified to fit your game by simply
changing the text options and the background images.

It works with the UNREGISTERED version of gm6 or gmk

The other examples of the engine are made for the registered
version of gm6, and they offer a more professional look.

Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

And now we come to the Registered Version. It offers a more professional look.
This requires the registered version of gm6 and above, and this one actually scrolls the print, see the sample image. I wish to give the following credits on THIS version:

The rt_rollleft script is 100% the work of max_buutz, as found in his Transition Example v2.95
The String wrap script is by Xot and Yourself, and the draw text outline was originally
an idea from jakman4242, and later modifications adapted from p-entertainment.

[*]File Link: The 2.5 meg .rar file

[*]File Link: Here is a 75kb. screen shot of this version.

Good example, i liked it, the only thing that was a bit crud was the speech but other than that it is a good simple example of a cut scene

Yes, the sound files were quickly done, and can be changed easily by substituting your own, or I can
make one for you. Please try out the newest registered version I just uploaded, it's tons better.
And thank you for your commment.

This has gotten quite a few downloads, but nobody has commented on whether or not
it works on the unregistered version of gm6. Should I continue this with some more
example uploads, or is nobody really interested ? Any questions ?

I think it's pretty simple because:
1) absolutely everything is commented, extensively
2) to use it, you just have to change the background images to suit, and edit the text, to suit.
3) I am new to GameMaker and couldn't write a complicated program if you held a gun to my head

Good Luck

Hmm pretty nice example, nice coded,no bugs. Wierd it has so many few comments.Didn't understand what the last room is for (Didnt have time to check the codes, will do later) but nice job. Also if someone si going to use this in his game,he'll better use external backgrounds because the gmk itself is 3.5mb:P

The last room is where your menu might go. I just put a basic filler for that, so that you can change
it for your own customized menu. Yes, the backgrounds are somewhat large and should
be replaced with your own backgrounds, or, as you mentioned, loaded externally.
I was able to change them to .gif's with lesser colors (190 instead of 256) on an example I have
on my own computer, and they looked ok and were smaller. Thanks for the nice comment.

I uploaded a new example and a screen shot of same.
This one uses a Flash-Gordon type them, and features an interesting menu example also.
This can be used by unregistered versions of gm6 and gmk. There have been over 400 downloads
of the older version, so hopefully this will bring out some comments. Enjoy.

Well the menu was just a place-holder, to show what COULD follow the end of this example, but if you have

some other areas where there are bugs, please let me know so I can take a look. If you want a GOOD menu,

my other topic is really about menus, and has no bugs that I know of:
