First impressions...
GUI is a little cluttered and is ordered strangely. The graphics style doesn't compliment the game, makes it feel a little outdated. Interesting idea though, and I am quite enjoying watching all the... things grow :). I will take a deeper look then give my final opinions.

Very interesting! I worked as a microbiologist for a good few years so this appeals to me and the addition of the minigames makes it all the better! The main simulation section is fantastic although I think that you should include tool tips that show up if the mouse hovers over a button for a certain length of time as it´s a bit confusing and having to constantly open the help file is annoying... I haven´t explored the full the depth of this yet, but I will come back and post again when I have a more in depth crit...

Oh and change the music... It´s (in my opinion) horrible!

Not bad, but you need to work on the balance. Too often I get the plants reproducing exponentially and growing out of control. Perhaps there could be some sort of limit on how many plants you can have at once (say, plants die if their nearest neighbouris too close). Tap the "1" key and you'll see what I mean: you create one plant cell, but it quickly becomes a hundred, then a thousand, and so on until either your computer locks up or you deliberately kill all of them by pressing the Extinct Species key.
