LISTEN TO FIONN HODGSON (ME) TALK ABOUT TOTAL ANARCHY ON SIMPLY SYNDICATED: HERE. You also get to hear some new information and insight into the game so it's worth a listen. Why Am I releasing this now? I have no idea how this game currently shapes up on older machines. You can help me by trying out the game and notifying me of your FPS and system specifications. Update: Looks like most machines can take this game. Make sure you have at least an Intel P4 Processor and a decent video card. ![]() Current Game Features:

Wow! Very nice! Everything was smooth and the graphics are very well done. I don't know what else to say lol.
9/10 - The AI could use a bit of work. |

Tried it and found it really laggy, even on low settings. My machine is relatively low-spec (XP, 1GB ram, Nvidia 7200) but I think it should be able to handle a game like this. I really wanted to play this as well, looks intense from the screenies.

Was it just laggy? or like a slideshow? |

I don't know where the FPS is on the screen but it wasn't laggy at all on the highest quality level. My specs are:
2 - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT 1gb Ram |

A very good game. But how do you expect us to use letter keys, arrow keys, and use the mouse to shoot all at the same time?
[edit] nevermind i figured out to use space... lol bugs: cpu people can walk over some cars. When you die you can still move until you respawn. When you back up and hit the run key you disappear and reappear rapidly. when you are shooting the machine gun (the one two away from the hand, with a 50 above it) and try to run you change clothes and hair. Why can we run or walk while shooting? And it would be nice if you made the gun aim at the mouse.. Its so hard to aim using the keys. This post has been edited by soccer99: Apr 28 2009, 11:03 PM |

This is all easy to fix stuff that I need to be reminded of. Problem is, some of those bugs have been in the game for over a year and feel like part of the game, so you stop thinking that they are abnormal problems! |

Very very good game. Although the driving was bad, the controls were weird and the camera wasn't how I would like it (Like follow the direction of the player). The police were kind of plain and easy to attract. Also when being hit by a car or falling off a motorbike they should get knocked forward.
If you have no way of getting out of the car the player appears on the car, I think by pressing enter it caused me to goto a room with only water. |

Not bad, ran fine, looked great.
What i didnt like, how you cruise along then al of a sudden it stops for a split second then continues (changeing rooms i imagine). That drove me insane. Also, zoom the camera out so we can see where we are going! |

Great game, a little messy movement sometimes but else very very great. Nice to see so good games done with game maker.
No performance problems at all (I was to lazy to turn fraps on to see the fps). nvidia 9600 gt core2duo 2.8 ghz 2 gig ram |

I'm glad to hear that it is running on average machines too. Pat_stix: Press PageUP in game if you think the police are bland! I am also aware of that water bug, I have no idea why it teleports you there if you get stuck trying to exit a vehicle. I'm working on a solution. Watzels: Yeah, I have to split the map up into rooms otherwise it fills up the memory very quickly and the traffic doesn't fix itself after accidents. |

this is amazing, very addicting, i only didn't like how touchy the car turning was and where the controls were set up, good thing my hands are huge lol.
i got a score of 1026 by just rampaging the city(just like i do in gta) this is one of those games where its so much fun to mess with the physics and guns that you get distracted from the missions haha. |

This is fantastic. The frame rate was fine for me, but I only had one issue- The cars. I think you should check out my GearShift car physics engine- Even if you don't use the driving you could definately do well with the collision system. I don't want this to sound like a silly plug, this game really has great potential but I'd hate to see it ruined by dodgy car driving and collisions.

Seems as if my current handling model is still unpopular. You know I did release a version of this ages back with realistic car physics with drag and drifting. That was widely panned for being to slippery and hard to drive. I'm going to take a look at this physics model and see if I can possibly blend the two to make something better and actually playable. |

The problem with realistic driving in this is that the lanes are too small and theres too much traffic. In addition when you crash into another vehicle you stop commpletly.

The problem with realistic driving in this is that the lanes are too small and theres too much traffic. In addition when you crash into another vehicle you stop commpletly. Thats always been the way with top down GTAs. Ever played GTA1 or GTA2? Even Chinatown Wars still has this problem. The top down perspective means that you can't see as far as you would normally see in a 3D perspective viewpoint. The roads themselves are perfectly wide and the traffic is relatively light. I might have a go at implementing some 'scrape' physics later, so you don't stop completely if you clip someones wing mirror. Also, forgot to mention this, you can shoot fowards from your car at any point in the game by holding Space. Does anybody like the radio stations? |

The only thing i didnt like was the camera while driving.. it just doesnt feel right Have you tried both types of camera? Press letter C in game. There will be a third option in the Demo where you can lock the direction of all cameras to the same degree no matter what direction you are facing. |
