Any chance of a battle system?
If its in already, sorry. I haven't checked this topic for awhile and I ran it right away, causing a spike up to 100 CPU. Not gonna bother running it again.

i was working on a battle system, but it got stopped becuase of school ;)

Maybe if i get more free time to focus and work hard on it i will finish it, the only problem i have are the stats from every pokemon, i just dont feel like releasing it with 5 pokemons in the database (i you guys are Ok with that i have no problem, but i just dont feel like i should)

ps: its a pain in the ass to parse all the stats into code, its not a lack of info, its a lack of time and pacience...

1 pokemon would be good enough, so we could ad least add more.

Ok then, if i have some free time ill finish it... i dont promise anything, besides the engine i was making was addapted for the two screens on the side...

I know that this post is old, but do you think that you can make a texture and obj file of the pokemon gym from diamond / pearl for this? I'd greatly appreciate it.

When I downloaded this it works fine but when I try to add a pokemon center to the map it says unknown variable z...

The engine is quite useless in its current state XD.
Unless someone wanted to spend ages on trying to figure out how some of the code works.

OKay, first off, congrats on this system, its just what i've been looking for.
I'm a complete noob at Game Maker, so i wander if you can help me.
How do i rip and or make OBJ files?
How do i make multiple maps, and then link them, like in pokemon?
Is there a battle system to use with this?

I'm sorry for the noobish question, but I'm planning on making a game, and i'd really like to use this system.

I can not understand how to insert (.OBJ) files in the game so if you will help me by making extension of inserting (.OBJ) file easily and to make game 3d means to change the camera view so it is possible that I may give you credit.

ive been offline for a long while, this thing got filled up :S

ive tested the engine in GM8, it runs perfectly, i must admit that the speed improovements are major, i recommend that if youre having problems with the speed you must try it with that version, just for check, and, i will appreciate if you guys give your specs and speed porcentages, because for the moment i have no idea wich are the minimal requirements :S

I've got a prob. I made a sign that says, "welcome to sifthaven.", but when the message ends it says:
ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object chat_cont:

Error in code at line 15:
if (char.oth).texts != 0

at position 19: Unknown variable texts

what does this mean and how do I fix it? :GM071:

In the script "add_event()" you must add a new switch case for the new sign:

In this case, all th events with ID 3 will correspond to a sign with the text "welcome to sifthaven."

To change an event ID in the map editor press 'E' when the mouse is over the event object, or simply set it when you create the event

YOU MUST NOT ADD A NEW SIGN OBEJCT AND DROP IT IN THE ROOM!, EVERYTHING MUST BE LOADED THROUGH THE .MEF FILES

Appearently you havent changed them all... try including the files onto the executable as i described in the first post

ok that worked, im srry for the noobish question this is my first time using gamemaker and im making an emerald version remake and ur engine was the best one out there. thnx and one last thing how do i make my own rooms for the game? do i just use the map editor? i have made another room and put all the essential objects in and the char obj wont appear

I am new in this forum and i don't know if i am breaking the rules while rwviving this post.

Well, i downloaded this engine

and configured it, the z , fov , and angle, then i tried to remove the menu, and i got it (i quit a view), but, it draws a shadow that doesn't supposed to appear, ¿Can you help?

Hey, i have a problem, please help, some sprites (like people_0), are out of where they should, If you're up the old man, is floating, if you're down, then sinks into the ground, also that happens to the char and old man sprites, when changing the angle, i tried to change the char creation, and change the draw line to this:

draw_sprite_ext(sprite_index,image_index,11,21,1,1,0,draw_get_color(),1)

There is the same problem, a quite better, but not solved, ¿how can i calculate the true value of the drawing line?

I want it like this:

draw_sprite_ext(sprite_index,image_index,xdraw,ydraw,1,1,0,draw_get_color(),1)

How can i calculate the best vale to xdraw and ydraw???

Edit: I think i sould use the point_distance and point_direction to solve this.
