This is an engine ive been working the last few months, ive decided to release the source so i can start working on my own pokemon project...

You are free to use this engine, as long as you give me some credit :P

Important:
Before you test the GM6 file remember to include the external files into the project, else you will get several error messages and the game wont run. The external files must be extarcted to a temporary folder created by the game

It also includes a small crappy map editor to make the .MEF files, read the readme.txt file for the controls and info

Download: (the files is a gm6, but its compatible with all later versions, even 8)

So how does this work you go in-game and build your maps and then play them after? :medieval:

Very nice, 9.5/10.
I tried with GM 6.1 Unreg and it didn't work, but works fine on GM7 Reg.

Just got it to work open up the script called load and replace temp_directory with working_directory

then open up load_resources and do the same.

Very nice. Can you tell me how to rip the textures too? Because I'm only able to get the models with OGLE. It's not saving the texture. :/

OGLE does not support texture dumping (According to there website.)

I don't see it anywhere and according to this, only texture maps cannot be captured.

I think it saves the texture in the obj file, but I'm not sure. I'll check.

i explained the controls in the first post, its a mess, if you check the source code you wouldn't understand a thing...

IMPORTANT: im deleting the link from WHFF, it redirects to a different file than the one i uploaded in the first plece, so, i assume its some kind of bad sofware, ill try to reupload in some other server

um i downloaded it and fixed the loadscreen thing, but it runs incredibly slow. like it takes 2 second for him to move one spot. its weird and annoying. any fix?

Well, it does eat lots of resources, as i said before, Game Maker's D3D is not suitable for 3D games, or it is, but it uses lots of resources, everyone who tested it and get slow speed probably tested in old machines (i have a 1.6 processor with 1gb ram and it works at 100% fps, with some ~2% slowdown once evry a while, in my Core 2 DUO PC with 2Gb of Ram i get 100 FPS, not %, FPS, it would be like 150%)

The only fix is... a better computer? or a new 3D engine ;) (plase dont say "use U3D!" because i wont, i gave you guys the source, try it if you want, you are free to modify it, thats why i released it...)

i was working on a battle system, but it got stopped becuase of school ;)

Maybe if i get more free time to focus and work hard on it i will finish it, the only problem i have are the stats from every pokemon, i just dont feel like releasing it with 5 pokemons in the database (i you guys are Ok with that i have no problem, but i just dont feel like i should)

ps: its a pain in the ass to parse all the stats into code, its not a lack of info, its a lack of time and pacience...

OKay, first off, congrats on this system, its just what i've been looking for.
I'm a complete noob at Game Maker, so i wander if you can help me.
How do i rip and or make OBJ files?
How do i make multiple maps, and then link them, like in pokemon?
Is there a battle system to use with this?

I'm sorry for the noobish question, but I'm planning on making a game, and i'd really like to use this system.

I can not understand how to insert (.OBJ) files in the game so if you will help me by making extension of inserting (.OBJ) file easily and to make game 3d means to change the camera view so it is possible that I may give you credit.

ive been offline for a long while, this thing got filled up :S

ive tested the engine in GM8, it runs perfectly, i must admit that the speed improovements are major, i recommend that if youre having problems with the speed you must try it with that version, just for check, and, i will appreciate if you guys give your specs and speed porcentages, because for the moment i have no idea wich are the minimal requirements :S

I've got a prob. I made a sign that says, "welcome to sifthaven.", but when the message ends it says:

In the script "add_event()" you must add a new switch case for the new sign:

In this case, all th events with ID 3 will correspond to a sign with the text "welcome to sifthaven."

To change an event ID in the map editor press 'E' when the mouse is over the event object, or simply set it when you create the event

YOU MUST NOT ADD A NEW SIGN OBEJCT AND DROP IT IN THE ROOM!, EVERYTHING MUST BE LOADED THROUGH THE .MEF FILES

ok that worked, im srry for the noobish question this is my first time using gamemaker and im making an emerald version remake and ur engine was the best one out there. thnx and one last thing how do i make my own rooms for the game? do i just use the map editor? i have made another room and put all the essential objects in and the char obj wont appear
