lets say you make your cars
image_xscale.5
the headlights stay large and off of the car
now it isn't as simple as you think, if you try to shrink the headlights they just shrink but don't stay near the car...
so you'd assign the x and y origin to the front of the car, so it'll always be there. or use lengthdir_
Exactly.
Thanks much for making this. I've been working on top-down racing AI for a while now, and I've got some decent cars driving themselves around a track now, but I could never get collisions to work just like I want them to.
You're welcome. I'd love to see this if you'd pm it to me

this is awsome!!!
the drifting works almost realisticly...
i found a problem...with the hovercar...when your reversing and your at about half the max reverse speed and you start accelerationg you cant thrown so fast that the speed thing said it was going about 20000 speed...
Thanks. I'll look into that bug.
This engine is perfect for one of my projects! (I'm excited) You're right, the physics aren't perfect, but it seems like they're on their way to BEING perfect. Hat's off to you, Chaz. Great job so far. Keep workin' on it. I actually just stumbled on to this by mistake. I was searching for help figuring out how to use data structures (which I'm still trying to figure out), when I came across your cool banner. So, instead of working on my space TDS, I spent the evening messin' around with GearShift. I must say, this is the best top-down car example I've seen yet using GM.
Thanks for your detailed reply. I'm glad you like the engine so far (And that you're excited

). Hopefully you'll make something nice with it, and if you do; please share it with us!
