10800 zombies is a retro platform shooter just the way they should be. You speed trough levels and blast zombies.
Great inspiration came from Detoss Law.

Okay. I played till the first boss. ( And died ;) ) I think the game is pretty hard. (The first levels at least). As I said I didn't play for very long, but here are couple things I noticed:

There should be a autopickup for the weapons (ammo).
The screen should be larger (IMO)
The enemies should stop at you and beat you or something, not just that you lose health when they pass you. This works at the first boss though as it seems that the frog crushes you : D

I liked that there were sounds. I didnt like the CS/HL explosion sound though €” I have heard it too much.
Maybe ill comment more when (if) I play more.

But got to say:

NICE GAME, GOOD JOB!

Thanks man, good feedback. (: The game is quite oldfashioned, and therefor not as easy as most games coming out nowadays.

-The weapon system does not work with ammo, this is just my choise. You can carry two shotguns (or two whatevers) with you, otherwise the player would just collect a huge ****load of ammo for one good weapon. This sort of forces you to make strategic choises.
-What do you mean? The black area? If not, you can switch between windowed and fullscreen in the options menu. And also, why does it need to be bigger? Would this help the gameplay.
-Hmm, why would that be?
-I know ripping is bad, sorry. ): But this is one of the best explosion sounds I could find, any other (free) sound would probably be recognized by a lot of people. Still, you're sort of right.

Thanks again, I hope you'll play again and check out the further bosses, weapons and enemies. (: I promise you it gets funner.

Heh, you never posted after I did in the WIP topic, and now the game is done! You made a lot of progress. Great game overall I really like the music, and the blood effect is still awesome.

I don't mean to complain, but I find some of the jet pack jumps in Stage 4 too much of a pain. One jump could take my five minutes.
Maybe make them a tiny but easier.

Well, the graphics are pretty cool, I like the character style. The blood, is weird and is disturbing... I mean it looks like blood is flowing all over thw wall, which is pretty bizarre. Well, at least you made a new kind of blood splatter. And good work, this game kicks (zombie) ass!

Orc leader: You jump higher if you activate the pack right after you've jumped, instead of doing it when at your highest point. I should sort of explain that perhaps?

Now that I have played this more I must say that this is too hard for me. Im trying to get past the 2nd episode boss. But if I jump down at the wrong time, there is nothing I can do. If the screen was bigger I could time my jump to the boss better but now its just pure luck.

Its pretty good, for being quiet simple.

I don't think the "probably" is necessary. Of course he made his own sprites and engine.

But I think the person before was asking if he could get his hands on the source code for this game -
"Would you care share that how did you make the game?"

Or maybe I could have completely misinterpreted him.

Anyways, this game is superb! Good job :P

No, I'm not even interested in source code (since I have some and never look at them) because I recently finished reading the book (GM's apprentice) and was searching for a good platformer tutorial, rather than Mark's very own.

Sorry for being vague.

not bad but kinda boring. the style was good for being a simple small pixelated character and sprites. but it kinda seemed repeatative after a few doors. i like the picking up weapons though thats nice.

Very nice game - but I don’t like the screen shacking when I am in full mode. Not the shacking when you get hurt, it seems to wiggle when I jump. Anyway, the controls are fine, and the graphics are simple yet good. The sounds and music are also nice. Keep up the nice work. :P

People generally aren't inclined to release how they made their games, are they?

Fun game! (But kind of gory, I guess.)

Pretty good game. Found one minor bug though. If you play as any character other than Joe Average and you die, when you restart the level, the sprite shows as Joe Average until you move... Also, the view is a little shakey when you play in windowed mode. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Nice and simple platform shooter.

I loved the graphics; very retro. Definitely a challenge too; those little Zombies are FAST! Anyhow, this was a fun game to play and I'm looking forward to seeing exactly how you tie a storyline into it. Good Job so far. :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I was a huge fan of the blood.

Pure Awesomeness...

But very hard.

Any cheats in this game?

Also, how do you unlock new characters?

Imagine a large mansion. And imagine that it has light, reflected off of the very large moon at night. Now imagine rain. Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. Now imagine a light flickering in one or two of the windows of the mansion. And finally, imagine a cinder block and some sort of burnt trophy, laid on the side of the house; pieces of broken metal and wiring is twisted over and under them. Then imagine that the flickering lights turn off. Now the moon turns off. Did you like that? go here to read the full story...and PM me about it if you liked or didn't like it...

I expect that he didn't use tutorials, or didn't need them, and the sprites are probably selfmade, as it should be.

Edit: Damn didn't know I had a post here. And don't change "kick ass". That's ridiculous.

Oh my god. Amazing. 10/10. I saw no problems with it, other than I would've liked it a lot more if I didn't have to restart at every game over... But I guess that's part of the challenge.

This would also make an amazing multiplayer game... If you'd be interested, contact me via PM or on MSN at lego@inorbit.com.

Again, it was great. 10/10. And with that frog boss, I was glad I was packin' two full shotguns
