Is it me or there is something weird?

I noticed that my games rating is beeing changed. No its not downrating, it wasnt done by users. A month or so ago Robbie Swifthand had 3,9~ rating and GMBA had 4.1~ . Both were rated by more than 200 members, GMBA has more than 600 ratings, so the rating cannot be easily downrated.

A couple of weeks ago i noticed that Robbie swifthand had dropped to 3.5 with no big changes in vote counts, it seemed wierd but I figured it was just me. but now both games are exactly at 3.0 and almost no raise in vote counts. There is deffinitely someone changing the rating.

What the heck is going on? ...

YYG is filled with idiot noobs who make the worst games and rate every good game on the site a 1 and the prank games a 6.
It's no surprise when a good game goes down fast.

In fact, about 1/100 of members, I'd say, are fair raters.

No it couldn't be done by the users, there is no way a game with 600+ ratings to go from 4.1 to 3.0 without getting a LOT of downrating. The rating of both of the games dropped to 3.0 exactly in a very brief period of time, without the vote count raising...

I see, I haven't notice that, but still 4.1 / 6 * 5 = 3.42 . Where did that go? ...

I'm fairly certain one of the members of YYG staff said at one point there's now a measure to stop downrating and uprating (I think).

Any way, the rating system isn't quite right at the moment. I noticed that not long after uploading Innoquous, it was rated 4.3 by 2 members. When you can only rate in integers, that's pretty much impossible. Also, it's now at 4.0 by 8 members, but every so often it flickers up to 4.1 then back after an hour or so (with no change in rate count).

As I type, the website's down. Maybe it's being fixed.

I agree, Jenner.

Ratings need to go back up to the days of olde.
OK, scream, you're not talking about downrating, but, y'know, all other great games (such as yours) are getting the same treatment.

I don't understand the problem you, or any other people, for that matter, are having.YYG is in a transitional state, too. In a few weeks most of the problems will be straightened out.

I got something similar. When viewing a game page, the "games by this author" list is sorted by rating. After winning the competition, ByteAlity Tower defense had nicely climbed its way to the top (or in this case, the left) of that list, but suddenly it was all the way to the bottom (or, the right) again, and now has a 3.0 rating, while it has had at least a 4.0 before.

Something fishy is going on here

Is trying to figure out whats going on a problem? I see my game rating beeing changed, I check all the announcements and see nothing about rating changes, its natural for me to wonder whats going on. I didn't blame anyone for sabotage or anything :skull: .

Well all I can suggest is that you contact YoYoGames Staff (YoYoJim is on as I write) in order to check out the issue, there is very little any of the members here can do to help. I haven't experienced the problem myself, however I have noticed that my game recieved a seemingly unjustified boost to its star rating. Still, not complaining. :skull:

Hi All, Scream681,

Just to state the obvious, it's not us deliberately downrating your games. (I'll personally see what I can do about putting Robbie Swifthand back in it's rightful place.) We've made a lot of changes to the background workings of the site and it seems like the ratings system has developed a few unusual quirks. I'm going to get the site dev guys to take a look at this thread, hopefully they'll have the problems sorted soon.

Jim

EDIT: Didn't see Jim's post.

No problem, the more evidence we have about this issue the quicker it will be resolved.

I thought that all games' ratings changed a bit when they updated the site, as if they calibrated the ratings a bit differently than before... but that might have just been my imagination.

About the change you would expect when going from a 6 star rating systen to a 5 star one.
