This isn't a problem that can be fixed by the moderating staff of the forum

My point exactly

If your point was simply to point out that the the Mod's can't fix it, then why must you call them "incompetent teenagers"?

You have been way out of line. You need to apologize. And not just some mumbled ungracious apology, a real one. Tears, blubbering, the whole thing.

I agree.
AVG is now popping twice every time i go to a new page, so i should just wait it out?

Your apology was at the best sarcastic, and directed at nobody.

We have the knowledge to fix the problem. Problem is, we do not have the tools. We look after the forum, we do not have the clearance to alter the source code of the forum, which is what has to be done.

No harm done, just don't come to me for any favors... I'm to incompetent to help you anyway. In fact, not sure I'm feeling competent to approve any posts, I seem to have forgotten how to do so.

And that is the way it should be - you can't have a forum with 10 admins. Using tiered levels of moderation ability is the correct way to administer a forum as big as the GMC, so it is both logical and smart that we should all not be able to alter the source code for the site.

That goes double for me. I'm not approving anything that's not filled to the brim with helpfulness, friendliness, and possibly candy. So I doubt I'll be helping Nelson out with much during his preview.

OK Nelson let me explain it to you. Perhaps you honestly don't understand.

It's not a question of the Moderators not being competent enough to fix the problem, or not having the knowledge to fix the problem.

Their accounts do not have the authority to fix the problem. The Mods account have varying degrees of power, none of which has the ability to fix the forums, nor remove the malware.

Regarding the google block. Once again the mods can't fix it. In fact at this point even fixing it won't immediately make the google block go away.

Once the malware has been removed from the site, and Google scrapes it to verify that the site is clean, at that point the block will be removed.

OK, now that we got that over with. I definitely won't be approving your, or anyone else's posts either. I don't care how much you and the others apologise. Not one post will be approved by me.

Brontoman: to fix that go up to

>Tools
>Option
>Security Tab
>And in the Security Tab uncheck the box that says "Tell me if this site I'm visiting is a suspected attack_site"

Though of course if you run into a site that is an attack_site then you won't know.

So turn it back on after all of this is sorted out.

Sorry for the person that posted this on this topic, i didn't copy you just repeated what you said.

spacerat - You are the idiot. IE is not the best but it is not what you're calling it.
You'de be a complete idiot comparing IE to Firefox. In IE you can always cancel running ActiveX or downloading programs. In firefox you can download extensions which spy on you disguised as a weatherbug or a super toolbar. Guess what, statistics show Firefox has a lot of malicious extensions then IE. Problems in IE are exploits. But consider this: if Firefox can't even filter bad extensions let alone fixing exploits.
Please, you've already showed us your highly intelligent comments, no need to show off your super skills in how web coding works.
As to your list of why people should choose firefox, here's a list of why you should shut up and leave people with their decissions:

1) IE supports a wide range of protocols which or only available in firefox with some badly built extensions. I would rather prefer to see a malformed site ratherthen none at all.
2) Try check memory and time in opening IE7 and FF3: IE7 loads in about 2 seconds, FF 6. IE used 7Mb on this page, FF uses 13Mb. Not nice, eh?
3) FF has a huge repertoire of extensions (which spy on you) and I expect Chrome will (not) have the same (Chrome as said on their site, will be a simplistic functional browser without addons of any type). All IE has is a bunch of crappy toolbars and some drive-by viruses (if you are stilling using IE 5.5, but it is a fact that most viruses in IE are cought due to user error/stupidity).

By the way, let's see how much you'd love firefox after reading:
http://home.comcast.net/~SupportCD/FirefoxMyths.html
(also verified by http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic44405.html)

And I thought the "Games in General" section was full of biased idiots.

And you dare to call your opinion "unbiased" when you literally trash Firefox to pieces in your post? In Firefox, extensions aren't installed until you go through a security prompt. You're obviously making it sound like this is not the case.

Jesus Christ - does Windows filter bad software? Didn't think so. [excluding Vista's Windows Defender, but for over the past 10 years, it hasn't. Once again, what about IE? Does it have magical anti-malware protection? What exploits? All have been fixed in a very quick timeframe. Then again, every software in existence has exploits and most don't get fixed as fast at all.

Would you care to list these "malformed extensions", let alone the protocols you are talking about? I honestly haven't needed to use any protocol in Firefox ever that it hasn't supported out of the box.

I think Connor's post already killed this point. I have 4 gigs of RAM myself - I don't care, and nobody should care if they get a browser with numerous useful features and extensions that will make their web experience better by sacrificing a tiny amount of their memory.

I haven't encountered one single malicious extension in the 3 years I've used Firefox (I think somebody else said that here too). And since we're discussing which browser is best, Firefox has hundreds of useful, spyware free extensions IE doesn't. If you want absolute security, only install extensions from the official extension database. Problem solved.

Did it ever occur to you that half, if not most of this website applies to old versions of Firefox and that half of these points don't make sense (oh my god, Firefox doesn't pass the Acid3 test, just like almost no other browser does)?

Oh, and I can't believe I let this slip past me:

And what are you doing right now?

I can't believe nobody has put up to the stupid inane gibberish you've posted here. Personally, Firefox will always be my browser of choice, mainly because of the numerous extensions I can get, including Firebug and Adblock Plus. Have fun using Internet Explorer with the advertising and constant prompts to download malware whenever you visit "Smiley Central" by accident.

The reason you get a message is because the forum is an attack site. The forum was hacked, and is now dangerous to be on. Turn your security settings up (FF3 w/ noscript, myself, but any will do) and be careful. Don't accept any ActiveX Controls, unknown javascript, ect. and have an anti-virus handy. There's nothing more anybody can do (except laugh at Nelson).

The website in the IFRAME contains IFRAMES, hence, when I first found the malware, I did not search for yourtraff.biz, I was searching for one of the other domains it was referencing (see http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=396429) so it was Christian Sciberras that actually found the original location of it.

That IP address is likely to be just another one of those IFRAMEs.
