Incidentally the Massacre and Null driver were weapons planned for Iji 2, but I toned the Massacre down and "broke" the Null driver and put them in this game instead. To find out what they really do you'd have to wait for Iji 2. So like, in 2030? :)

Just the fact there's plans for Iji 2 leaves me speechless.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG *Hach-Que is excited*

EDIT: Wait, how exactly do you plan to continue a storyline like Iji? Isn't is sort of a storyline which you can't continue from?

EDIT 2: It'd be nice if there was something in 1.4 that made the game tell you when you break a pacifist run so you can restart the level. Maybe an option that's only accessible after you finish the game?

EDIT 3: Damn it. That maximum charge was sooo tempting..

EDIT 4: Got the Massacre weapon and a perfect 0 kills :P

EDIT 5: Ultimortal, do you think for 1.4 you could do me a favour and make the game create a text file with the list of unlockables the player has achieved? That way I can manually include a wrapper EXE to send achievements to RoketGames.

I know it's annoying when replaying the game, but I can't just make these skippable outright after you beat the game once; I also need to take into consideration those who play the game at a friends' place or similar. It's a trade-off.

Why not make the hints switch in the Extras, unlocked after you beat normal or higher ?

You are probably the first person in this thread to compliment the graphics.
Let me be the second. I thought the graphics looked pretty good.

Graphics are quite stunning. Music, though, is...debatable. After a while it gave me a serious headache, so i switched it off and never turned it on again.

Perhaps it's a prequel? Although an Iji without Iji would be strange...

Still, I'm just as excited as you :rambo

That is quite amazing on its own. Sorry for not liking skull-splitting noises.

Just the fact there's plans for Iji 2 leaves me speechless.

Remember: don't expect it to happen, I just said there are plans. :p All I have is a bunch of text.

Wait, how exactly do you plan to continue a storyline like Iji? Isn't is sort of a storyline which you can't continue from?

It follows the Komato empire, heading for internal war, and what became of the humans after the Komato decided to make amends with their past. You would play as an older Iji in those plans, fighting for Imperial Research under General Kiron. Technologies hinted at in Iji (like the Null driver and Star Strike) are completed by then, and something even more dangerous is being developed by Imperial Research. I don't want to say too much as there are just plans and could change completely if I ever made that game. I did however make a concept art (it's not Iji). One point for recognizing the shoulder tattoo. :p

It'd be nice if there was something in 1.4 that made the game tell you when you break a pacifist run so you can restart the level. Maybe an option that's only accessible after you finish the game?

I'll see if I have the time for it. I'd rather integrate it into the game without additional options somehow.

Ultimortal, do you think for 1.4 you could do me a favour and make the game create a text file with the list of unlockables the player has achieved? That way I can manually include a wrapper EXE to send achievements to RoketGames.

I'm sorry, it's too much work for just one service.

I've haven't read through this topic much, nor have I posted in it, but I figured I'd just say my opinion on this now.

In a nutshell, it was a great game. The simple character graphics were very nice and fluid, the music was fantastic and the gameplay was excellent. There's only one thing that was slightly troublesome, and it may just be my computer, but it lagged a lot during a few of the boss fights. Has anyone else got this? Everything else worked fine, but during the fights (I noticed it was the ones with the electricity effect in them), it lagged heaps, making the game almost unplayable.

Apart from that tiny mishap, it was highly enjoyable. (Also, the first time I played, I set the difficulty to medium and I cleared the game with three deaths... does that make me good or something? :rambo )

-Andrew.

EDIT: Also, just thought I'd post Iji's concept sprite for GMClash: Posted Image
It'll most likely get reworked and look different in the final version. :(

About the slowdown, Windows Vista and some graphics cards don't like GM's way of drawing lines and polygons, which are heavily used in some boss fights.

Karnot: it may be that the music isn't playing correctly on your system. Did you try listening to the MP3s outside of the game?

This is why I'm very restrictive about what effects and music type I use in my next project. Compatibility is the biggest hurdle...

Yes, its playing correctly, i just dont consider that kind of music good. Like i said, it gave me a headache, and i'm not joking or playing with words.
Whatever, its switchable.

BTW, how many can claim they've killed Asha on Extreme ? I couldnt do it, he's way to fast to react. Good that there's JUST enough points at that moment to get Velocithor.

Use the shotgun, it's the most effective weapon against assassins.

It is totally still exciting anyway. I had never thought there would ever even be a thought regarding the creation for Iji 2, and just the fact that there is a chance over 0.5% that it could be done is incredible.:P

That sounds like a pretty great story, and whoever that is has gotta be the toughest women ever, or a really feminine Rambo. :P

Any chance for a prequel? I want to play as that woman tasan who gets killed in one shot.

I just thought of something else for 1.4, though it's unlikely to be implemented. Sometimes I want to go back and play a boss without having to replay the level. Can you add the boss sections to the Play Sector extra?

Guys, let me remind you again: Iji 2 is extremely unlikely. I may have plans, but making the game would be more demanding than Iji was. Gameplay would be so different that no code or content from the original would remain.

Hach-Que: The reasons I didn't have a "boss rush" are that the player would have to decide on their stats, weapons and such before each boss, and it's pretty hard to simply enter a boss room from the menu considering the ton of variables and triggers that come with them. Sorry...

There aren't many games at the moment that actually make me excited just thinking about them. This is one of them.

I played this through awhile ago, forgot to post. It was amazing. Everything was just so cool. The story, the graphics, the fast paced battles. I really liked the story up until near the end. You couldn't save the tase :o the tasen were awesome. I wanted the world to stay how it was before the very end, because it woudl pave a great path for Iji 2. This has gotta be amongst the top 5 best GM games ever made (if not number 1!). I think an Iji Deathmatch would be awesome, were you have team and single deathmatch modes (the teams being the tasen and Iji against the komato) with it being online, and weapons spread across the map.

Well anyway great game, I'd love to see an Iji 2.

I can, easily. I played Ultimortal where you HAVE to kill him; and I did.

EDIT: Easily claim*
