Does anyone know why the GM Buddy's copy button doesn't work on all function codes? I am using Windows XP Professional and when I try to copy the code to the clipboard it doesn't always work.



2/18/09:

GMLB Update version 2.3.6!

Added features:
- Gravity Contact (useful for player coming to contact with objects in platformers [2D])
- Get Pixel Color (draw_get_pixel, slow, so don't use in Step)
- User can choose his/her own color with get_color

Fixed features:
- Multiple line copying problems and items looked over
- Several other bugs

Please give feedback so we know what we can add in further updates to better help you!



I am using Windows XP Professional and when I try to copy the code to the clipboard it doesn't always work. Do you have a suggestion as to what I can do or is it a bug in the program?

Okay, it's obvious people are suggesting:
- MPLAY functions
- Multiple command instantaneous translation

The reason I have not already added mplay functions is because it's extremely unpopular with GM online coder. Mplay is very slow and lags a lot when there are 4+ people. 39dll is smoother and much faster.

So, my question to you is: Would you like GML Buddy v2.5 to have:
- mplay functions only
- 39dll code only
- mplay and 39dll code

Secondly, I have not included my multiple D&D translations because my engine seems to have a problem with it. Also, i wish to get all of my custom D&D commands in before I add the multiple command translations, because then I would it would get messy trying to add new code and make it work with the block translating.

To gameherder: this may be a fault on my part, I added new code and modified some to make it run smoother, so I might've messed the whole thing up. I will test immediately.
EDIT: Yes, single line codes do not work, only multiple line! I will release a minor update of GML Buddy soon. For now, use v2.3 I have supplied


Thanks for all of your positive replies and suggestions! I will take them all into account as I continue working on GML Buddy (remember it takes some time making those customized icons for the fake D&D commands, and sometimes, it takes 200 lines of inefficient code for me to work out the translation).

Okay, I uploaded new files a few minutes after I read the report from gameherder. It seems like:
- Host-A worked fine and the new download was up yesterday
- Will Host For Food needs to have an uploaded file UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME or else it will not update the file
- I did not update YoYo Games' link at all

So, today, I deleted the first link for GML Buddyv24.exe and replaced with GML Buddyv24[Fixed] and I uploaded a new file for YoYo Games.

Something is wrong... YoYo Games goes to homepage, WillHostForFood gives me an 503, same as Host-A
Are you sure the links work? O_o

Edit: Ah nevermind, Host-A works now. Going to try it out.
Edit 2: Awesome program! I loved the 3D functions, mouselook is awesome, and healthbar shows me how to use ortho projections!

This looks very promissing! I'm in the progress of making a 3D game with GM, and this will be very helpful! I can't test it until tomorow, though. I am using a GM-less computer at the moment. :lol:

@ Samuka: I'm sorry, I removed all links to the file because if I tried reuploading the file under the same name, it would not update correctly, just stay the same as the previous file. As for YoYo Games, I uploaded another exe so it had to virus scan it. Thanks for the score out of 10!

@ Commander~DEST: Really? Which one has the problem? Will Host For Food or Host-A?

@ gameherder: I'll be sure to fix the problems you PM'ed me in the next update.

@ Lamby-Games: Thanks! I hope this is useful to people.

Remember, suggestions help update GML Buddy. For now, please don't request having several D&D commands stacked together and translated at once, because I would like to add more D&d functions before that update so nothing gets messy.

um id say dll. because you say its faster, that should alone soley be a new tabi in GML buddy, then i would say to add dll. other codes, like facing off or most importantly a "chatbox"

Yeah, when I saw people asking for mplay functions in here, I was confused, because it's not that useful anymore. I'll just add a little of both in its only "mplay" tab to satisfy both groups.

Note: I won't be working on GML Buddy that much, as I have another project going on.

I'm not currently working on GML Buddy v2.5 as I have another project going on, but I'm sure to be collecting ideas. I will be making fixes to all of the bugs I find along the way, adding various D&D commands, useful mplay and 39dll code. Be sure to give any suggestions and bug reports as soon as you can, so I will add to GMLB, but please refrain from suggesting several D&D command translation! Thanks!

EDIT: If you are curious on what I'm working on (surreal futuristic TDS, set after humans ravaged the Earth's surface and have created a refuge in a digital world (somewhat like the Matrix):

I've noticed there's a new translator out, that supports multiple D&D translation. If I decide to, I might add that to GML Buddy (Might be difficult or simple to merge into my existing engine).
