--- Crimelife 3 also on YoYogames ---

-And don't forget, this is still a beta. I have to complete a big part of the map before I add missions and stuff like that so I don't want to hear again: "where are the missions?..". When I finish with the betas I will add missions and a good storyline...

Ok, just posted so I could be called first on this awesome looking game! This almost looks like GTA III itself! And you did this with GM? Astounding! Unfortunately, my compy cannot handle the specs, but soon I am getting a new one, so then I will post about the actual gameplay! But the graphics look awesome! Does this mean that CL2 is dead?

Remember this is only the first beta.
I'm working 3-4 months with this. The actual gameplay, the map and other stuff will change in later vesions. This is only for testing.

Cool, All your 3d games rock dude. I am thinking into 3d game play also. Nice job again, but you could also smooth the graphics a little bit.

Graphics were noticably better. I never experienced a framerate drop. Admittedly, there wasn't much going on, but still, nice job.
There should be a frame or two between having the gun at his side and aiming it ahead. The animation when the people got hit by a car was seemed strangely higher quality than the rest of them.

3 questions:

1. Did you use Movenow to make the animations, or did you just use transformations? You didn't use terrain or a heightmap, so you definitely could have used Movenow.

2. What's AC3D? Is it a 3D modeler? I've never heard of it before.

3. How much of this did you make yourself? I'm mostly wondering about the vehicle physics and the textures. There are a bunch of car physics scripts floating around the forums, and a lot of your textures look photorealistic.

All I have to say is WOW.
I liked the new death animation, improved physics, and the loading time was very short and the game itself was smoother than CL2. Great job!

Screenies look better than CLII.
It's ok, but you can tell it's a beta. Crashing into things and dying was way too easy, and the models look good, but not as smooth as I'd want to enjoy a GTA type game.
Graphics: 7/10 models look ok, people textures need some work.
Gameplay: 7/10 - Like the death animations better than CL2.
Sound/music: meh
Story: No story yet

1. No I'm not using Movenow. All the animations are with transformations. I don't know if I will use Movenow in next versions.

2. AC3D is a very easy modeling program. Here is the homepage

3. Everything has been made by me. Apart from some cars that I have found them a long time ago.

AC3D looks nice. Too bad its not free. I'll stick with Anim8or for now. Its free, and easier to import stuff into GM than with Blender.

It's fun and all, but sadly running looks a little weird.

Pros

- Graphics look very good and don't lack a sense of reality.
- Little to no textures looks out of place.
- Non-interpolated trees look surprising great.
- Vehicles look better in the way they animate.
- Aiming system feels much more fluid.
- Death animations are more natural.

Cons

- Animation is still lacking.
- Level design has little attention, there are a couple spots where the road is in the wrong place, or fences go inside buildings.
- Homes look out of place in terms of design.
- Environment is too flat, at least curbs would be nice and could show off some suspension physics.
- The vehicles sounds are horrible, even if temporary. Either put better ones in or disable them, they ruin the demo (IMO)
- The bikes don't tilt far enough.
- Vehicles need individual tweaking. Everything handles the same.
- Vehicles have no traction, and while it does feel better than CL2, it's not too great.

Misc

- I can't comment on framerate since my machine keeps both CL2 and 3 at a solid 30FPS.
- Watch out on how you design those hills, there are flat areas that still register collisions.
